Maryland 194.15 at UNC 193.8

Maryland defeated hosts UNC, using a balanced overall effort.  UNC swept the individual events, led by Christine Nguyen, who won the BB, FX and AA (38.925).  Kara Writh, her teammate, pitched in a win on VT and a tie on UB with teammate Elizabeth Durkac.

GWU 190.275 at NC State 194.325

NC State posted a 194.325 to win at GWU.  NC State's Taylor Seaman posted a win in the AA at 39.15, picking up wins on the UB and the FX.  Teammates Brooke Barr won VT and Jess Panza won BB.

Ball State 190.475 at Bowling Green 191.575

Bowling Green posted an away victory, led by Breanne Guy's 38.375 AA win.  Guy also won the BB with a 9.8.  Teammate Danielle Wishart tied with Ball State's Morgan Coslow on VT.  For  Ball State, Bibiana Rodriguez won UB and Brittney Emmons won FX.

2011-12 Milliner to Bama

Milliner's commitment to Alabama is confirmed in a news article.  The L10 from Folgers in Kansas has place 1st AA in all of her meets so far this season and she scored a perfect 10 on vault at the New Years Invitational in January.

Today’s college athletic climate is much different than it was 20 years ago and college coaches are under tremendous pressure to achieve two important goals: win and raise money. The one directly affects the other and alumni will enthusiastically support a winning team…and yes, the opposite is true. The cost of effectively managing a successful college athletics department has increased over the years, while support from university subvention has, in most cases, increased slightly, if not at all.

Men's: NU 335.45 at OU 356.5

Oklahoma defeated long time rival NU, with a season high 356.5.  OU's Ian Jackson posted a win on the Rings and the AA (84.25) to lead OU.  Steven Legendre added wins on the FX and HB, while frosh Alex Naddour broke the school record on PH.  Frosh Jake Dalton won PB, while Bobby Shortle set a career high on vault.

Men's: Minnesota 342.15 at Illinois 350.65

Illinois swept the individual event titles, and outscored Minnesota as a team on every event.  Paul Ruggeri, the Illini junior, was dominant, taking the AA (87.2), FX, VT and HB.  Teammate Daniel Ribeiro won the PH, while Brian Liscovitz won PB and Anthony Sacramento won Rings.

PSU 196.45 at Pitt 194.65

Penn State, led by Brandi Personett's 10.0 on the vault, posted a 196.45 to defeat Pitt. Personett also posted a win on the FX and a tie with frosh teammate Sharaya Musser and Pitt's Alicia Talucci on the BB.  PSU's Natalie Ettl won the UB.

Minnesota 189.475 at Michigan 195.05

Michigan posted a 195.05 to win its 31st conference win in a row.  Sarah Curtis of Michigan won the AA with a 39.2, taking the UB title in the process.  Teammates Natalie Beilstein, Kelsey Knutson and Kylee Botterman completed the sweep of the VT, BB, and FX, respectively.

Arizona State 195.65 at Washington 195.425

ASU posted a 195.65, led by Mary Atkinson's wins in AA (39.175), VT and FX (tied with four others).  Francesca Mercurio tied with Washington's Ruby Engreitz on the UB.  UW's Sam Walior won the BB and ties for 1st with Atkinson, ASU's Nicole Johnson and teammates Haley Bogart and Kristen Linton on the FX.

SEMO extended its winning streak by posting a 194.65 to defeat BYU. For SEMO, frosh Jordan Salsberg won the VT and tied with teammate Christina Sundgren on the UB.  Another teammate, Brianna Gaddie, won FX.  BYU's Megan Donehue won the BB.

Yale posted a season high to defeat visiting Springfield.  Yale's Bridgitte Kivisto led the way.  She won the VT, FX and tied for 1st on UB with Yale frosh Lindsay Andsager.  Allison Mak of Yale won the BB, while frosh Tara Feld posted a career-high 38.575 to win the AA.
