PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Southern Connecticut gymnastics team finished fourth in the Rutgers March Quad with a score of 191.800 which is the Owls highest score of the year. Rutgers won the meet (195.725), followed by Temple in second (194.450), and Cornell in third (193.075).
The Owls scored a 48.775 on the floor which was their highest score in an event this season. Abby Royer and Hanna Zebdi were the highest scorers for the team.
FLOOR EXERCISE
Royer and Zebdi scored a 9.800 on the floor to tie for sixth place. This is Royer's season best which tied her personal best as well. Erica Beyer scored a 9.750 to tie for 15th. Ava Kelly scored a 9.725 and Sidney Wilson scored a 9.700.
VAULT
Kelly was the highest Owls scorer on the vault with a 9.675 to tie for a 12th place finish. Wilson and Brianna Dorr scored a 9.650.
UNEVEN BARS
On the bars, Gabriela Dinisoe scored the highest for the Owls with a 9.675 to tie for 14th. Kylie Sitty scored a 9.625
BALANCE BEAM
Angelina Stanfa finished with a score of 9.600 to tie for 14th on the beam.
The team will compete in a quad-meet at Bridgeport on Sunday, Mar. 16 for the last meet before the GEC Conference Championships on Saturday, Mar. 22.
