US Gymnastics Championships: Men's Day 1

Former NCAA champ and Michigan star Sam Mikulak took a big lead on Day 1 of the US Championships.  He's chasing after his sixth title.  He posted the day's top scores on FX, PB and HB, plus 2nd on PH.

Former OU standout and NCAA champ Yul Moldauer is 2nd, just ahead of Minnesota's Shane Wiskus and former Stanford star and NCAA champ Akash Modi, who are just 0.05 back in a tie for 3rd.  Former PSU standout Trevor Howard is fifth, while Stanford signee Riley Loos is 6th.  Wikus was the top vaulter, while Illinois grad Alex Diab had the top Rings mark.  PSU standout Stephen Nedoroscik had the top mark on PH. 

In the Junior 17-18 Junior Elite category, Colt Walker (2020) took the lead.  Garrett Braunton (2020) is 2nd and Minnesota's Crew Bold is 3rd.  In the Junior 15-16 category, Nicolas Kuebler is the leader.
