Mizzou's Sienna Schreiber won the AA (39.3) and BB (9.925) while frosh teammate Amari Celestine won VT and FX to lead the Tigers. Alisa Sheremeta completed the sweep with a win on UB. It was the Tiger's highest ever opening score.

Gym Back Bailey Lovett tied for the FX title with Ohio St frosh Jenna Hlavach as Arkansas used its depth to score the win. Ark's Kennedy Hambrick posted a 39.35 in the AA. For the Buckeyes, Elexis Edwards won VT, Colby Miller won UB and Ella Hodges won BB. Five Gym Backs were unable to be present.

Rachel Chesley won VT and Olivia Opheim won FX to lead UW La Crosse to the win. For the Gusties, Sophia Redding won UB and Annie Corbett won BB.

NU frosh Emma Spence won the AA while teammates Kynsee Roby and Kinsey Davis won VT and UB, respectively. ISU was led by wins from Meixi Semple on BB and Laura Cooke and Maddie Diab on FX. An unfortunate neutral deduction on FX for competing out of order kept the Cyclones from coming away with a win.

PSU picked up wins from Jessica Johanson on VT, Alissa Bonsall and Lauren Bridgens on UB and Bella Salcedo on FX. PSU's Melissa Astarita tied on BB with TU's Brooke Donabedian and Hannah Stallings. Frosh Stallings won the AA with a 38.9.

Florida frosh Sloane Blakely won the AA with a 39.45 and tied for 1st on BB with teammate Leah Clapper to led the Gators. Florida's Trinity Thomas won VT and teammate Alyssa Baumann won FX. Gator frosh Leanne Wong tied with teammate Savannah Schoenherr on UB.

Michigan posted a 197.75, its highest every season opening score in history, to easily down the Gym Dogs. The prior record was set last season, when the Wolverines rolled on to win the National Title. Wolverine Natalie Wojcik won the UB and the BB en route to a 39.65 AA win. Teammate Gabby Wilson won FX. On VT, Michigan's Reyna Guggino, Abby Heiskell and Sierra Brooks tied for 1st with UGA's Megan Roberts.

The 2022 Season is upon us, with a little sense of déja vu. We have seniors returning for their fifth or sixth years, a load of exciting frosh and some of the largest rosters in our 22 seasons of publishing these reviews. We're once again publishing Season Previews for the entire Top 25 teams, as ranked by the Coaches' Preseason Poll. In each Preview, we've summarized the team's returning routines, their lost routines, their returning starters and the rest of their roster, with a special focus on their newcomers. We'll also give a brief overview preview of their prospects and challenges.
Defending champion Michigan tops the Women's Preseason Coaches' Poll. They7 received 37 first place votes. Florida just edged out OU for 2nd, with Utah not far behind. Florida had 16 first place votes, OU 6, Utah 8 and #5 LSU and #7 Cal 1 each.

Michigan's Kurt Golder is retiring after 25 seasons as Head Coach of the Men's squad. He led the Wolverines to four NCAA titles and six Big 10 Conference titles. Assistant Yuan Xiao will lead the team as interim Head Coach.
