Stanford's Brody Malone, a back to back ('19, '21) NCAA champ, took the lead after Day 1 at the US Championships, in the Men's Senior Division. Stanford teammate Brandon Briones is tied for 2nd with former Sooner Yul Moldauer, a two-time NCAA champ.
The University of Alaska at Anchorage has officially met the fundraising criteria set out by their Board of Regents. The program will be reinstated starting for 2021-2022. Although they continue to raise funds, it appears that the team is on the path to permanent reinstatement.

Skye Knox, a first year L10 from Roth's Crosspoint, has committed to Cornell to 2021-2022.

Casey Brown, a L10 at East Bay, has switched her commitment to Cal for 2022-2023. She was previously committed to Washington. She recently finished 3rd AA at the L10 Dev Nationals.
LSU Assistant Bob Moore, who coached 7 NCAA champions for LSU on VT, has announced his retirement after more than 30 years in the sport.

Washington has hired Lindenwood Head Coach Jen Llewellyn as their new Head Coach. She's spent the last 9 seasons with Division II Lindenwood, starting up the program and winning three National titles and six Conference championships. She was also twice named USA Gymnastics Coach of the Year. As a standout at Oregon State, Llewellyn (nee Kesler) won regional and Pac 12 Championships on UB and was a three-time All-American. She originally hails from east side of the Seattle area. Her husband Cody was an assistant at LU.

Simone Biles won her fifth GK US Classic Title, as the countdown to the US Gymnastics Championships and Olympic Trials has begun. UCLA signee Jordan Chiles reaffirmed herself as a leading candidate for the team with a silver and strong 57.1 tally. Florida commit ('22-23) Kayla DiCello put herself into the front runners with a solid 3rd place finish, including 1st on UB.
Katie McNamara has announced her transfer from UW to UCLA via Instagram. She was a steady all arounder for UW in her freshman season.

The USA Gymnastics Men's Development Program Nationals, formerly known as the Junior Olympic Nationals, is being held in a new format this week. The Men's and Women's competitions are being held at the same site in Florida, along with the Men's Collegiate Club championships (GymACT).
