OU posted a strong 197.35 to win the second session of the Collegiate Challenge at the California Grand Invitational. UCLA was second at 196.575 after problems on BB, and Cal was third at 196.2 Stanford posted a 195.475 for fourth in this session (a mark that would have been 2nd in the first session). UCLA's Kyla Ross posted a 39.725 AA win, including a 9.95 win on FX and tie for 1st at 9.95 on BB, with teammate Samantha Sakti. She also tied for the VT title with Cal's Kyana George and OU's Anastasia Webb. OU's Maggie Nichols posted a 9.975 to win BB and a 39.625 to take 2nd AA.

Illini frosh Mia Takekawa had a spectacular first meet, winning the AA with a 39.35. She also tied on BB with Mizzou frosh Helen Hu and tied for top honors on UB with teammate Karen Howell and Mizzou's Aspen Tucker. Tucker also won VT. Illini frosh Arayah Simons tied for the FX title with Tiger senior Morgan Porter.

Denver won the first sesson of the Collegiate Challenge at the California Grand invitational, led by Alexis Vasquez and her 10 on BB. It was the first ten of the season. Vasquez hit a front aerial to back handspring to back layout combo, switch split to split jump, Memmel turn and aerial to layout full dismount. Teammates Maddie Karr and Lynzee Brown tied for AA honors at 39.55. Brown won FX with a 9.95 and UB with a 9.925. Auburn's Derrian Gobourne and Drew Watson stuck Yurchenko 1 1/2 for first on VT.

LSU frosh Kiya Johnson won VT with a 9.9 with a double twisting Yurchenko and FX with a 9.95 (full-in mount). Teammate Reagan Campbell won BB with a 9.925 while Tiger Kennedi Edney took the AA at 39.35. Arizona's Christina Berg won UB at 9.9 as the Wildcats hung close to LSU through three events. LSU posted a 49.275 on FX to secure the win, after counting a fall on BB and a mistake on UB.

Utah's Kim Tessen won VT with a 9.925 for a stuck Yurchenko 1 1/2 and then won UB with a 9.9 and then tied for 1st on FX at 9.95 with teammate Sydney Soloski (double layout mount) to lead the Utes in their win over the Wildcats. Teammate Cristal Isa won BB with a 9.925. Tessen did not compete BB. UK's Mollie Korth led a pair of UK AAers with a 39.375. The Utes went 49+ on all four events, while UK's best event was BB at 48.975, as neither team counted a fall.

UGA posted a win at the Critique Classic Invitational in Kissimmee, FL on Friday night. They posted a 195.1 to defeat Oregon State (194.45), Iowa (192.7), and Bridgeport. UGA's Rachael Lukacs won the AA with a 38.775 and the FX with a 9.9. Teammates Mikayla Magee and Rachel Baumann tied for 1st on BB for the GymDogs. Oregon State's Sabrina Gill won the UB while Iowa's Lauren Guerin won VT with a meet high 9.925.

Former Cal standout Toni-Ann Williams has accepted a position on the Towson staff.
Oklahoma tops the Women's Preseason Coaches' Poll, as compiled the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA). They captured 1,813 points and 36 first place votes. LSU was 2nd at 1,755 (11 1st place votes), and Florida is 3rd (2). UCLA is just 9 points behind Florida in 4th, with Utah in fifth, closely followed by Michigan and Denver (1).
Michigan just missed the 196 mark with a 195,.975 to win an exhibition quad meet with CMU (194.5), WMU (193.4) and EMU (192.4). Michigan frosh standout Sierra Brooks won UB and the AA (39.425). Teammate Natalie Wojcik won the BB and FX. For CMU, frosh star-to-be Hannah Demers won VT and placed 2nd AA (39.3).

Langley has filled coaching positions at USAF for the past several seasons.
Kentucky has signed Bailey Bunn, Carissa Clay, Isabella Magnelli and Krista Zultevic for 2020-2021. They also signed Ashlyn LaClair, who will join the team to begin in January. The commits of all but Clay were covered previously.
Air Force Men's program has hired Sergey Resnick as an assistant coach. He's a two-time All American from OU. He had been coaching at Enrich Gymnastics in Houston.
