PSU's Briannah Tsang, representing Canada, placed 11th AA at the World University Games. UCLA incoming frosh Pauline Tratz was 13th. Romania's Larisa Iordache won the AA title with a strong 56.75.
Mickelson has been a volunteer coach at Air Force. Prior to that, he was Head Coach at Iowa State
Russia won the women's team competition at the World University Games this weekend. Canada was 2nd, with former NCAAer Brittany Rogers (UGA) and current NCAAers Brianna Tsang (PSU) and Danelle Pedrick (CMU). Japan was 3rd and Germany, with UIC gymnast Antonia Aliecke and UCLA incoming frosh Pauline Tratz, was fourth. The US did not field a team.
OU commit Ragan Smith won her first National senior AA title on Sunday in Anaheim. UCLA commit Jordan Chiles was 2nd, with Florida commit Riley McCusker 3rd. Trinity Thomas was 4th, just ahead of UCLA commit Margzetta Frazier.
Utah commit Maile O'Keefe won the junior women's division at the P&G Championships on Sunday. In 2nd was UCLA commit Emma Malabuyo with Kara Eaker in 3rd.
O'Keefe won the UB while Malabuyo won the FX and Eaker the BB. GAGE's Leanne Wong won the VT.

USA Gymnastics has named the 2017 World Championships squad. The meet will be an individual only Worlds and will be held in Montreal. The format has influenced the selection to be heavy on specialists.
2016 NCAA Champion Yul Moldauer of OU won the his frst Men's US National Senior AA Title on Saturday night. He was followed in 2nd by former teammate Allan Bower. In third place was Donnell Whittenburg, with Stanford grad and 2017 NCAA champ Akash Modi in fourth and Cal grad Donathan Bailey in fifth.
Brody Malone won the Junior Men 17-18 division and Garrett Braunton won the 15-16 division at the P&G Championships. 3rd in the 17-18 division was Ohio State incoming frosh Max Andryushchenko while incoming NU frosh Griffin Kehler was 4th.

Former Olympian Chris Brooks announced his retirement from elite gymnastics this week and accepted the position as AC at NU.

OU's Yul Moldauer leads the Men's standings at the P&G Championships. Stanford alum Akash Modi was 2nd (tied for 1st on HB with Moldauer), while OU alum Allan Bower is 3rd. Bower's classmate Colin VanWicklen is fifth (1st on VT and FX). Former Sooner Alex Naddour was the top performer on PH, while Donnell Whittenburg was 4th AA and 1st on R.
Jason Vonk will fill the Assistant Coach position at GWU. He makes the move from Yale.
Kaitlin Dewey has been appointed assistant coach at Rutgers. She formerly coached at Texas Dreams.
Garrett Griffeth joins the staff as assistant coach. Courtney McCool Griffeth joins as volunteer coach.
