Madelyn Soloman from Cedar Valley Gymnastics has committed to Iowa. This season she placed 7th AA at her state meet and 11th AA at regionals.
Jr. Elite Tori Tatum has committed to LSU. She trains at Twin City Twisters. She placed 15th AA at both the 2016 Secret Classic and P&G Championships.
Illinois Head Coach Nadalie Walsh has hired former Bama star Ashley Priess-Johnston as an assistant. The former elite is a Brevet judge and has experience coaching at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. A 10 time All-American, she went on to earn a Master's at Bama in Sports Management in 2013.

We have seen a flurry of last minute early commitments ahead of an August 1 rule change that is intended to slow the flow. Up to this point it has not been unusual for programs to secure commitments 3-4 years out. The rule change restricts when unofficial visits occur, but as coaches find their work arounds, early offers and commitments will probably continue. As the dust settles on that issue, here's a quick glance at the recruiting pipeline for the current top ten programs (listed in alphabetical order). Sophia Butler competed this weekend at the US Classic in the HOPES division (12-13) She finished 1st on vault and bars and 3rd AA. She has announced her commitent to Florida. She competes for Discover Gymnastics in Texas.
Nikki Beckwith of Buckeye Gymnastics has committed to Penn State. She finished 1st on bars and 5th AA at her 2017 state meet. She was 6th AA at regionals and 50th AA at JOs.
Grace Evans, L10 from Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta, has committed to Ball State. She placed 1st on bars and 2nd AA at her 2017 state meet. She placed 6th AA at regionals and 32nd AA at JOs.
Future NCAA stars were in action this Saturday at the US Classic. Michigan commit Alyonna Shchennikova won the senior division while UCLA commit Emma Malabuyo won the junior division.

Anna Yeates, L10 from Byers, has committed to Oregon State. She qualified through her 2017 NorCal meet to regionals where she placed 1st on beam and 3rd AA. She placed 8th AA at JOs.
Michigan has named Scott Vetere as an assistant for their women's program. Prior to working in HR for KPMG, he was an assistant coach for the Wolverine Men's program. He was also a standout for the Michigan men's program.
