2010-2011: Arthur to Michigan

Teresa Arthur of Krafft Academy is headed to Michigan next fall, according to her school's web site.  The L10 placed 15th AA at the Region III Regional meet in 2010, and 12th AA in 2009.

Men's 2010-2011: Hodges to UIC

Joseph Hodges of Rochester is headed to UIC on scholarship this fall, according to his club.  He recently finished 22nd AA at the 2010 Junior Olympic Nationals, Men's 16-18.

2011-12 Ali to Bowling Green

Jamilah Ali, L10 from Head Over Heels Gymnastics in New Jersey, has given a verbal commitment to BGSU for the 2011-12 season.  Alsi won the Manhattan Classic this season and placed 1st on vault and beam.  She won FX at the Rutgers Color Games, placed 1st on vault at the Lady Luck Invite, and placed 1st on vault and floor at the New Jersey state Meet.  She placed 21st AA at Regionals.

2010-11 Blades to Auburn

Kristin Blades, L10 at Apollo in Virginia, will walk on at Auburn this fall.  Blades finished 1st on V and BB last year at the 2009 NIT meet.  She has made a strong showing this season, including a near sweep at the World Class meet (1st AA; 1st V/UB/BB; 3rd FX), a win on FX at the Richmond Fall Classic, a win on vault at the Cancun Classic and a win on vault at the Apollo Rock 'N Roll meet.  She placed 5th at regionals and finished out the season at JOs, placing 49th AA.

2011-12 Oswalt to Boise State

Erica Oswalt, L10 from Gymcats in Nevada, has committed to Boise State for the 2011-12 season.  Oswalt has finished in the top five AA in all of ther meets this year, including 1st place wins at the San Diego Classic, the Cactus Cooler and the Purple and Gold.  This finished 3rd AA at her regionals meet and 5th AA at JOs.

Men's Junior Olympic Nationals: Event Finals

NCAA signees were in action again at the Junior Olympic Nationals.  AA champ Sam Mikulak picked up two event wins, winning FX and then coming back with a meet high 16.7 to win VT (see video below).  Here are the event champions in Men's 16-18 (future college name in parentheses):

Michigan frosh to be Sam Mikulak won the AA title at the 2010 Junior Olympic Men's Gymnastics Championships.  The SCATs athlete held off Jesse Silverstein of the US Gymnastics Development Center II.

L10 Nationals: Senior D

Florida signee Alaina Johnson and Bama signee Kimberly Jacob tied for the National AA title in the Senior D division at the L10 Nationals.  Johnson, who trains at Texas East, posted an AA tally of 38.5, and won the UB title.  Jacob, who trains at Superior, matched that tally to share the title.  Sarah DeMeo, who trains at Eagles and is another Bama signee, placed 3rd AA with a 38.45 and won the BB.  Amber See, an Illinois signee from TAGS South, won the VT and FX titles en route to a fourth place tally of 38.25.
