Meredith Paulicivic joins Utah's staff

Meredith Paulicivic, a former Ute herself, has been named Assistant Coach at Utah.   Meredith spent this season at Arizona and she was a long time SCEGA coach.

Honda Sports Award nominees named

Four gymnasts has been nominated for the 2015 Honda Sports Award:   Georgia Dabritz of Utah, Florida’s Kytra Hunter, Lindsay Mable from Minnesota and UCLA’s Samantha Peszek.   The athlete selected will be an eligible finalist for the Honda Cup.

Brad and Dawn Cattermole have announced their retirement after 28 years at BYU.  A national search for their replacements will begin immediately.

NCAA Event Finals

Event champions were crowned today at the 2015 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships.  Stanford's Elizabeth Price won the VT, while Utah's Georgia Dabritz won the UB.  On BB, UCLA's Samantha Peszek was the victor, while Florida's Kytra Hunter took home the top prize on FX.

L10 Regionals

L10 Regionals are underway around the country this weekend.  Region 7 will be held next weekend. 

The top seven competitors at regionals qualify to JOs, so long as they achieve a minimum score of 34.00.   This list highlights the seniors who are expected to compete at JOs. Event Finals Qualifiers

The top four gymnasts (including ties) should advance to the Event Finals, set to be held on Sunday.  Here's the field based on the results:

Florida's Kytra Hunter and UCLA's Samantha Peszek tied for the 2015 NCAA All-Around Title with a score of 39.6.  Their score from the first session held up in the second, as AU's Caitlin Atkinson and LSU's Rheagan Courville tied for third at 39.55.  LSU's Jessie Jordan was fifth.  Hunter was the NCAA Champion in 2012.

Session II: OU, Bama, Auburn Advance

Oklahoma survived a scare on BB with a counting fall in the last rotation to still win the session, posting a 197.4.  Alabama held off Auburn, 197.1 to 197.075, for 2nd. 

Not advancing from the session are NU (196.675), LSU (196.55) and Oregon State (195.875).  One of the early season leaders, LSU had huge issues on balance beam, counting two falls and numerous wobbles.
