OU posted a 197.025 to win the Champaign Regional. After a stellar 2nd half of the meet, Stanford closed the gap on OU to a post a 196.675 and hold off host Illinois (195.725). DU was fourth with a 194.875, with UK fifth at 194.75 and UIC in sixth with a 194.15.
OU was led by Megan Ferguson, who won the FX and tied for the beam title. Stanford's Alyssa Brown won the vault while teammate Nicole Pechanec won the bars. Another Cardinal, Amanda Spinner, tied for first on beam, along with SEMO's Taylor Westrick. The tie earns Westrick an individual spot on beam at Nationals.
Illini Alina Weinstein posted a 39.45 to win the AA. Joining her as an individual qualifier in the AA is DU's Moriah Martin.

Florida and Ohio State advanced out of the Raleigh Regional. Florida cruised to the win with a 197.325, but Ohio State (196.225) faced a stiff challenge from host NC State (195.975). PSU struggled on beam (195.65) after challenging early on. North Carolina was fifth (194.025) and Kent State sixth (193.575).
Individually, Ashanee Dickerson led Florida with a win in the AA (39.65). She also tied for the vault title with teammate Alaina Johnson and the bars title with Johnson and NC State's Rachel Fincham. Teammate Marissa King won the beam while another Gator, Kytra Hunter, won floor.
Advancing as individuals are Sharaya Musser of PSU and Morgan Evans of UNC in the AA, along with Fincham.

Illinois won their fourth consecutive Big 10 Team title on Friday, posting a 352.95 for the win. Michigan was 2nd and #1 PSU could only manage third. Illinois was led by CJ Maestas, who posted the top AA score of the night at 89.5. Michigan's Sam Mikulak was 2nd, and Illini Paul Ruggeri was third.

The Lindenwood gymnastics program has accepted an invitation to join the Midwest Independent Conference (MIC), joining Centenary, Illinois-Chicago, Illinois State, Southeast Missouri, and Texas Women's.
The AAI award is given to honor the Outstanding Senior Gymnast from all NCAA teams. The winner will be announced at the NCAA banquet in conjunction with NCAA Championships. The nominees:

Air Force defended its Men's USAG Collegiate National Championship title on Friday, posting a season-high 341.05 for the home win. William and Mary was 2nd at 331.85, Navy 3rd at 326.9 and Springfield 4th at 324.35. ASU won the Men's club title with the 3rd highest team total on the night.
In the AA race, Navy's Andrew Faulk won the title with an 84.3. Event finals are Saturday night.

With a season-best performance this weekend, PSU takes over the top spot in the Troester GymInfo National Rankings for the Week of March 4th. OU is 2nd and Stanford is 3rd.
The Men's rankings from Troester GymInfo are now using the "Four Meet Average". To get this average, the four highest scoring meets are taken, of which no more than two are home meets, the high score dropped, and the remaining three are averaged.
Individually, Jake Dalton of OU holds the top spot in the AA. He is also the leader on floor and PB. This week, the big change is that PSU's Craig Hernandez takes over the top spot on PH. Teammate Scott Rosenthal retains his lead on Rings. Stanford's Eddie Penev ranks first on vault. On the pipe, Illini Paul Ruggeri also retains his lead.

The NCAA has officially announced the fields for the 2012 Women's Regional competitions. The NCAA implemented one of two clear options for the Regional seeds, sending Bama/LSU/Arizona to Seattle and OU/Stanford/DU to Champaign. This was the only remaining question following this weekend's competition, as the rest of the placements were relatively straightforward after the seeding rules were considered. As OU is higher ranked than Bama, the committee elected to place them at the Regional site closest to them geographically (Bama is even closer but has the lower rank). Top ranked Florida received, as expected, the site closest to their school. The remaining seeds follow the rule that they are "anchored" by the host school.
The seeds four to six show a bit more mixing, with some teams being sent out of their Regions.

The rotation order is as follows:

This rotation draw adds to the excitement, as the 2nd seed has to end on beam. Seeds 3 and 4 get much better starting positions, with Seed 3 starting on bars after a bye and Seed 4 getting the Olympic rotation.

The final Regional Qualifying Scores have been published by Troester GymInfo, and the Top 36 is now finalized (the scores submitted to the NCAA take precedence).
Florida continues to hold the top space in the rankings, just ahead of OU. ULCA moves up to #3.
Cal won all six events as a team to defeat UIC. Cal's Jean Montecarlo won the AA and the rings, while teammate Glen Ishino won floor and PH.

UCLA won the inaugural Pac-12 Championships, posting a 197.425 to edge host Utah's 197.375. Utah's tally included a counting fall on beam. 2011 Pac 10 champ Oregon State was third, and Stanford, who lead the field heading into the final event, only to suffer a counting fall.
Ute Corrie Lothrop won the AA with a 39.625. Teammate Georgia Dabritz won the bars. UCLA's Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs won the beam with a 9.975, while Stanford's Ashley Morgan posted a 9.95 to win floor. On vault, UCLA's Vanessa Zamarripa and Olivia Courtney tied with Stanford's Ivana Hong for the title.
In Session I, Arizona posted a 195.9, while ASU (194.55), Washington (194.125) and Cal (193.525) dealt with falls.
The two sessions were attended by 19,734 fans.
