Michigan Wins Big 10 Title

Michigan posted 197.3 to win the Big 10 title.  Illinois posted a strong 196.875 to claim 2nd, with Iowa third at 196.725.  Nebraska was 4th at 196.475, Ohio State fifth at 195.525 and MSU and PSU tied for 6th at 195.2.  Minnesota posted a 195.175, which was just enough to secure the last spot at Regionals (by .01).  Rutgers posted a 194.7 and Maryland a 193.625.  Maryland appears to be the first team pushed out of Regionals by Minnesota, at #37. 

Michigan's Nicole Artz won the AA with a 39.5.  Teammate Emma McLean won VT with a 9.975 and Wolverine Olivia Karas won FX with a 9.925.  Illinois' Mary Jane Horth won the UB while teammate Lizzy LeDuc tied for the BB title with Iowa's Mollie Drenth and Michigan's Talia Chiarelli. 

Iowa's Larissa Libby was named Coach of the Year while Nicole Artz of Michigan won Gymnast of the Year.  NU's Taylor Houchin was named Freshman of the Year.

Oklahoma Wins Big 12 Championships

Oklahoma posted a 197.85 to easily win another Big 12 Championship.  DU was a distant 2nd at 196.475 with WVU (195.575) edging Iowa State (195.5).  The Sooners were led by Maggie Nichols and Chayse Capps.  Nichols won VT with a 10 and tied for the UB title with teammates Brenna Dowell and McKenzie Wofford.  Capps tied for the BB title with teammate Natalie Brown and took the AA with a 39.625.  Sooner AJ Jackson won the FX.

LSU Wins SEC Championship

LSU won the SEC Championships with a score of 198.075, holding off Florida's 197.825.  Bama was just behind at 197.4.  Georgia was 4th at 196.7, just ahead of Kentucky's 196.625 and Auburn's 196.55.  Missouri was 7th at 195.825 while Arkansas posted a 194.9. 

Florida's Alex McMurtry posted an AA score of 39.7 to win as the Gators unveiled a full lineup.  Teammate Kennedy Baker was third at 39.65.  Ashleigh Gnat of LSU had an exceptional night, winning the VT with a 10 and tying for the FX and BB titles.  Baker, McMurtry and Gnat were joined by LSU's McKenna Kelley on FX, while Gnat was tied by Bama's Kiana Winston and UK's Alex Hyland on BB.  Bama's Katie Bailey and LSU's Lexie Priessman tied for the UB title.

Lindenwood Wins MIC Championship

Lindenwood posted a 194.675 to win the MIC Championship.  TWU was 2nd at 194.0, just ahead of Illinois State's 193.875.  UIC was 4th at 192.75, SEMO 5th at 192.5 and Centenary 6th at 190.35.

SEMO's Alexis Brawner led the way, winning VT and the AA (39.225).  Lindenwood was paced by Kierstin Sokolowski's win on BB.  For Illinois State, Anna Marema won the UB.

EMU Wins MAC Championships

EMU won the MAC Championship, posting a 196.5 to hold off a strong challenge from host Bowling Green (196.4).  CMU was third at 196.1, a score good enough to ensure a spot at Regionals and catapult them up the rankings.  WMU posted a 196.075 for fourth, a season best, but was eliminated from Regionals.  NIU was fifth at 195.725, Kent State 6th at 194.85 and Ball State 7th at 194.75. 

Kent State's Rachel Stypinski led the way once again, winning the AA with a 39.5. She also won BB and tied with five others for the UB title.  The UB title was also shared by EMU's Natalie Gervais, Lacey Rubin and Catie Conrad, plus NIU's Ashley Potts and WMU's Jessie Peszek.  WMU's Anna Corbett won the VT while CMU's Macey Hilliker tied with BGSU's Kayla Rose for the FX title.

GWU Win EAGL Title

GWU posted a 196.275 to take the title.  UNH was 2nd at 195.075, host NC State 3rd at 194.875, UNC 4th at 194.525, Pitt 5th at 194.1, and Towson 6th at 193.225.

Cami-Drouin-Allaire led the Colonials, with the AA with a 39.4.  She also took the VT title.  UNH's Danielle Mulligan won the UB title while teammates Meghan Pflieger and Casey Lauter tied with Pitt's Brittany West for the BB title.  NC State's Paris Phillips won the FX.

Yale Wins First ECAC Championship

Yale posted a 194.6 to edge Cornell (194.45), Brown (194.125), W&M (193.925), Temple (193.675) and Penn (192.075).  It was Yale's first ever title.  Yale's Megan Ryan tied for the UB title with Temple's Alexa Phillip to lead her squad.  Cornell's Lyanda Dudley took the AA with a 39.1.  For Brown, Caroline Morant won the FX while W&M's Briana Gironda won the BB.  Penn frosh Caroline Moore won the VT.

Bridgeport Wins ECAC Div II Title

Bridgeport won the ECAC Division II Championship for the night straight time.  They posted a 194.925 to defeat West Chester's 192.875 and SCSUs 190.05.  Bridgeport was led by Briana Comport, who won BB and tied for the FX title with WCU's Majesta Valentine.  Teammate Kimberly Stewart won VT, while Purple Knight Christine Liataud won UB.  Kelsey Campbell took the AA for UB with a 39.125.

Men's: Navy 382.9 at Air Force 407.35

Air Force Senior Tim Wang led his squad to a 407.35 to 382.9 win over Navy.  Wang posted a 83.1 in the AA and won FX, PH and R.

UW Whitewater posted a 191.85 to take the WIAC Championships/NCGA West Regional.  UW La Crosse was 2nd at 189.7 and UW Stout 3rd at 188.75.

SUU 195.625 at BYU 195.65

Host BYU edged cross-state rival SUU, 195.65 to 195.625 on Monday night.  The meet had major implications to the National Rankings and the Regional qualification standings.  SUU was unable to improve their score and will hold at #19.  BYU was able to improve their score and currently are in a tie for #32nd (The Top 31 have already qualified to Regionals).  SUU's Stacie Webb was awarded a 10 on BB, the first ever perfect score for the SUU program.  Shannon Hortman and Mackenzie Douglas led BYU.   Hortman tied UB with teammates Natasha Trejo and Jill Van Merlo, and on FX with Douglash, teammate Kyleigh Greenlief and SUU's Madyson Blake-Howard.  Douglas won VT.

Oklahoma leads the Women's National Rankings for the Week of March 13th.  The rankings are done by Regional Qualifying Score, also known as the RQS.  The RQS is computed by taking the team's top three AWAY meet scores, the next three highest scores, tossing out the highest, and averaging the remaining five.
