Paris Olympics: Men's Qualifications

The US Men qualified for the Team Final at the Paris Olympics in fifth place.  China led qualifications, 9.799 points ahead of the US.  Japan was 2nd, the UK 3rd and Ukraine 4th (0.664 ahead of the US).  Frederick Richard and Paul Juda, both of Michigan, qualified to the AA final.  Stephen Nedoroscik, the former PSU star and NCAA/US/World Champion, tied for the highest score on PH and heads to the final in 2nd (execution tie-break).  Stanford's Asher Hong is the first reserve on VT and is the first reserve on R (with the exception of a Chinese gymnast, who is limited by the two per country rule).  US star Brody Malone had a rough day, falling multiple times and not making any final except as part of the team.

Former PSU standout Sam Zakutney of Canada was 29th AA, Malone was 30th and OU's Emre Dodanli, representing Turkiye, was 31st.  Kevin Penev of Bulgaria, a former Michigan standout, was 42nd AA and 12th on FX.
