Canadian Championships: Women's Prelims

Isabela Onyshko bested Olympian Ellie Black, 57.4 to 57.15 in the preliminary round of the Canadian Championships.  The Championships form part of the qualification process for the Canadian Olympic Team.

Former UGA star Brittany Rogers was third at 55.625, despite missing her BB dismount.  UGA commit Megan Roberts (2018) was fourth at 55.25, just ahead of Washington incoming frosh Madison Copiak at 55.075, who improved her key start values on UB and BB.  

Ohio State incoming frosh Victoria-Kayen Woo was sixth at 53.825, ahead of incoming Florida frosh Meaghan Chant in 7th at 53.575, who had pulled out of some earlier meets this year due to injury.  Maryland incoming frosh Kirsten Peterman was 8th at 53.35.   Shallon Olsen was 9th at 53.125, but 1st on VT and 3rd on FX.  Washington commit (2018) Meaghan Ruttan was tied for 10th at 52.7 with Rose-Kaying Woo.  They were just ahead of Oregon State incoming frosh Sabrina Gill (52.65) in 12th, who made an impressive comeback from injury to score strongly on VT and UB.   

Other future collegians included:  BYU incoming frosh Helody Cyrene, 13th, 51.875; Iowa incoming frosh Clair Kaji, 14th, 50.925; Utah commit (2017) Sydney Soloski, 49.075, 18th;  CMU incoming frosh Charlie Wright, 21st, 46.6
