The NCAA is considering legislation that would reduce the number of sports schools need to sponsor to qualify for Division I status. This would enable schools to further cut collegiate sports, in particular non-revenue Olympic sports. The Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition has started a petition. Please consider signing it today.
According to the coalition: "If the NCAA grants a waiver allowing for a reduction of the number of sports sponsorships for Division 1 qualification it would be a devastating, permanent blow to college athletes and forever alter the fabric of university life."
