Tim McNeill has resigned as coach of Cal's Mens squad. He will undergo back surgery, and after recuperation, will return to elite coaching. The former standout was instrumental in getting the Men's program restored as a varsity program, and had recruited 13 frosh for this past season. Cal finished 7th at the NCAAs, having been edged out for the finals by just 0.1

Allison Scates, L10 from Bannon's in Texas, Megan Frazzini, L10 from CGI in Colorado, and Hannah Dee Smith, L10 from Bama Bounders in Alabama, will join the Centenary team next fall.
Missouri has announced that Shannon Welker has been hired to helm their Women's program. Welker is currently an assistant at Michigan. He replaces Rob Drass, who resigned after the close of the current season. Prior to his five seasons at Michigan, Welker was an assistant at Bowling Green. Prior to that year, he spent nine years coaching at the St. Louis Gymnastics Center. He is a former All-American at UIC and a former men's assistant coach.

Lily Hardman, L10 at CapitalGymnastics in Virginia, will join the Iowa State team this fall. Lily qualified to regionals last season. She competed on bars at her state mee this season.
Brittini Chappell, L10 at AGA Gymnastics in Michigan, has committed to Arizona State. This season Brittini won the Luau in Leos meet (1st V/FX) and she recently finished 4th AA at her regional meet.
Noelle Harada, L10 at Libertyville Gymnastics in Illinois, has announced her commitment to Towson. Noelle qualified to the NIT in 2011 and to JOs in 2012. This season she finished in the top five AA at most of her meets. She recently finished 5th AA at her regional meet.
Caitlyn Fillard, L10 at New Image in NY, has committed to North Carolina State. Caitlyn is a three time JO qualifier. She qualified this season from her 1st place finish at regionals (1st AA/Vault/FX).
Kendal Moss, L10 from Everest Gymnastics in N.C., has committed to Auburn. Kendal qualified to the 2012 NIT and finished 1st on bars. This season she won the Everest Classic (1st BB) and she also competed at the Liukin Cup.
In the Junior Elite finals, Akash Modi won the Senior (17-18) crown at the Men's Junior Olympic Nationals. Dmitri Belanovski was 2nd and Jacob Dastrup was third. Modi also won the PB while Belanovski the rings and Dastrup, the PH. Charles Eggleston won vault and floor while Yordan Aleksandrov won the HB.
In the Junior division, Marvin Kimble continued his domination, winning the overall crown and taking five of six event titles.
In addition, champions were crowned this year at Level 10.

Lauren Marinez, L10 from Orlando Metro, has committed to Michigan. This season Lauren won the Gasparilla Classic (1st UB/BB). In the post season she placed 1st on bars at her state meet and she placed 1st AA and 1st on beam at regionals.
Beth Roberts has signed with Georgia, per a news article. Beth is a level 10 gymnast from Dream It in Georgia. She qualified to the 2011 JOs and recently finished 8th AA at her regional meet.
Also Ashleigh Edlin has committed to walk on at Iowa. We previously anounced her commitment in an earlier post and her commitment was confirmed in a news article.
Region I won the Senior (17-18) team title in the preliminary round of the Men's Junior Olympic Nationals. Individually, Dmitri Belanovski posted the top score in the prelminaires, in the Senior 17-18 division. Akash Modi was 2nd and Jacub Dastrup was 3rd.
Region 3 was winner in the Junior Division, with Belanovski's teammate Marvin Kimble of the Swiss Turners (The Hamm Twin's former club) turning in the top score, in a stunning domination. Kimble placed 1st on every event and posted a huge 94.05, easily outdistancing both divisions.

Ohio State will add Michelle Burns, Mary Hennekes and Faith Morrison to the 2013-2014 squad, according to a release.
Burns is a L10 from the St. Louis Gymnastics Center. In 2012, she placed 38th AA at the L10 Junior Olympic Nationals. This past season, she competed bars and beam, placing 1st on both events at the California Classic. Link: Video
Hennekes is a L10 from Perfection. She won bars at the 2012 Region V L10 Regionals. She has competed primarily on vault and bars the past several seasons. Link: Video
Morrison is a L10 from Capital. In 2013, she qualified to the L10 Junior Olympic Nationals after placing 8th at Regionals. Link: Website

MaKenna Merrell, L10 from All American Gymnastics in Utah, has accepted a scholarship offer from Utah. MaKenna finished 10th AA at the 2011 JO Nationals. This season she finished in the top three AA at her meets, including a sweep of events at her state meet and a 2nd place finish (1st FX) at regionals.
