Men's: DiBenedetto Signs with Minnesota

Dan DiBenedetto, who train's at Tim Daggett's, has signed with Minnesota for 2012-2013, according to the The Republican newspaper.  At the 2011 VISA Championships, he placed 5th AA in the Junior Men's 14-15 division.  He also was 2nd on HB and 3rd on SR. 

2nd-HB; 3rd-SR; 5th-AA; 7th-VT(T); 8th-PH(T), PB(T) (Jr. 14-15)

Men's: Stanford Signs Five

Stanford has announced the signing of five gymnasts for it's 2012-2013 Men's squad:  Kevin Baker, Brandon Beckhardt, Jonathan Deaton, David Frankl and Dennis Zaremski.

Baker trains at Queen City but hails from Kentucky.  His commit was previously reported as Illinois, but he has signed with Stanford.  At the 2011 VISA Championships, he placed 5th on VT and 7th(t) on FX.  Link:  HB on YouTube.com

Beckhardt trains at Hotshots.  He placed 28th AA at the 2011 Junior Olympic Nationals, Sr. 16-18.  He was also 28th in 2010.  Link:  YouTube.com Channel 

Deaton competes for Tim Daggett's.  He placed 2nd AA at the 2011 VISA Championships in the Junior Men's 16-189 division.  He was also 6th AA at the 2011 Junior Olympic Nationals.  Link:  YouTube.com

Frankl trains at the US Gymnastics Development Center II.  At the 2011 VISA Championships, he placed 16th AA in the Junior Men's 16-18 division.  Link:  YouTube.com

2013-14 Howe to Cal

Jessica Howe, international elite at WOGA, has committed to Cal according the Gym-Style.com, which manages her personal website.  Last season she finished 2nd AA/1st FX at the American Classic; 7th AA at the Covergirl Classic and 12th AA at Nationals.

2012-2013: Chretien to Brown

Alexandra Chretien has committed to Brown, according to her family.  Chretien is a L10 at Oakland in Michigan.  In her first year as a L10, she placed 15th AA at the Region V L10 Regionals.  As a Level 9 in 2010, she was the Eastern National Champion on the UB and in the AA.

Michigan Inks Two

As expected Michigan has signed Austin Shepphard and Morgan Smith.

LSU Adds Transfer at Mid Year

Britney Ranzy will join LSU in January.  The former sr. international elite and Olympic Trials participant competed for Oregon State last season, and is a two-time Regional champion.

Florida Signs Three

Florida announced the signing of Bridgette "Bridgey" Caquatto, Bianca Dancose-Giambattisto and Rachel Spicer.  The Gators previously signed Bridget Sloan, who will also join the squad for 2012-2013.  Noticeably absent from the list is Aly Raisman, who publicized her commit in interviews earlier in the year but was not included in the signing announcement.  The commits of Caquatto and Spicer were covered in prior news items.

Dancose-Giambattisto committed late in the signing process, finally signing with Florida.  She is the 2011 Canadian National Champion on UB and placed 3rd AA.  She was also 5th AA in 2010.  A member of the 2010 World Championship team for Canada, she is an experienced international competitor.  Link:  Video

UCLA Signs Two

UCLA announced the signing of Danusia Francis and Sophina DeJesus to letters of intent.  Missing from the release was the expected signing of Asi Peko.  Francis' commit was covered in a prior news item.

DeJesus is a senior international eltie and former jr. international National Team member who trains at SCEGA.  She placed 9th AA at the 2009 VISA (US) Championships.    She placed 5th at the American Classic in 2011, but did not qualify to Chamiponships this season.

Cal (W) Signs Leong

Cal has announced the signing of Serena Leong to a letter of intent.  Leong competes as a L10 for Edge Gymnastics.  At the 2011 Level 10 JO Nationals, she placed 40th AA.  In 2010, she placed 9th AA at the Region I L10 Regionals.

2012-2013: A. Glover to Iowa

Alie Glover has signed with Iowa, according to a site submission.  The L10 trains at US Gold in Florida.  She placed 52nd AA at the 2011 L10 JO Nationals (Sr A), after placing 2nd AA at the Region VIII Regionals.

2013-14 Kelley to UNH

Kaylor Kelley, L10 at Premier Athletics of Knoxville, Tn, has committed to New Hampshire.  In 2011, she won the  Atlanta Centennial Meet (1st AA; 1st UB/FX) and the SunCoast Sports Festival (1st AA; 1st FX).  She placed 1st AA and 1st on bars at her state meet and qualified to the NIT.   She qualified to the 2010 JO Nationals.

2013-14 Hemry to OU

Reagan Hemry has tweeted that she will walk on at Oklahoma for the 2013-14 season.  Hemry, an L10 at Bart Conner Gymnastics, ended her season at her state meet where she finished 1st AA (1st V/UB/BB).  In 2010, she finished 8th AA at the NIT.
