Florida 196.425 at LSU 194

The Gators continued on a roll, breaking LSU's ten meet home win streak.  Florida's Ashanee Dickeson posted a 39.475 to win the AA and dominate the meet.  She won VT, BB and FX (9.95), and then tied for 1st on UB with four others (LSU's Sarie Morrison plus Gators Nicole Ellis, Elizabeth Mahlich and Alicia Goodwin).

Missouri 194.55 at Iowa State 195.25

Iowa State defeated the visiting Tigers of Missouri 195.25 to 194.55 in a "Beauty and the Beast" match (combined with wrestling).  For the Cyclones, Shea Anderson won VT, Jody McKellar won UB and Michelle Shealy won BB.  Teamamate Michelle Browning tied for the FX title with Missouri's Lauren Swankowski and Mary Burke.  Burke also captured the AA with a 39.2.

Arkansas 194.975 at Kentucky 193.525

Arkansas defeated the host Wildcats 194.975 to 193.525.  Jamie Pisani led Arkansas, winning the AA and FX.  Teammate Jordan Salsberg won the BB.  UK struggled on that event, but Whitney Rose won VT and Caitlyn Ciokajlo led UK on the UB.

Auburn 194.975 at UGA 196.65

Only a counting fall on UB kept UGA from the 197 mark this evening.  The GymDogs were led by frosh Lindsey Cheek, who posted a 39.55 to win the AA.  Cheek also won the VT while tying teammate Kat Ding fo rthe UB title.  She added a fourth crown by tying AU's Rachel Inniss on the BB.  UGA senior Cassidy McComb finished the day strong, posting a 9.95 to win the FX.

Towson 190.325, Ball St 189.975 at Maryland 191.975

Abigail Adams led Maryland, posting a 38.85 in the AA for the win.  She also won the BB and the FX.  Teammate Katy Dodds won the VT while teammate Kaitlin Joseph won on UB.

WVU 194.475 at NC State 194.55

NC State edged WVU on the last routine on FX to win 194.55 to 194.475.  WVU's Amy Bieski won the AA and tied for 1st on VT with NC State's Brittany Vontz.  She also tied for 1st on FX with teammate Hope Sloanhoffer and NC State's Stephanie Ouellete (piked full-in mount).  Sloanhoffer, a WVU frosh, won BB.  NC State's Rachel Fincham took sole possession of the UB title.

2011-12 McRobbie to Air Force

Kimberly McRobbie, L10 at WOGA, has committed to compete for Air Force.  McRobbie placed no lower that 10th AA in any her meets last season, including 2nd AA finishes at the Pikes Peak meet and the Houston National Invitational.

Men's National Rankings for the Week of January 17th

Illinois tops the Men's National Rankings for the week of January 17th, according to Troester.com.  Cal is 2nd and Stanford is third.  Cal's Glen Ishino is the top AAer.  He also leads the high bar.  Illinois' Chad Wiest leads FX, while Ohio State's Ty Echard is the top PH worker.  Brandon Wynn of Ohio State is the top Rings man while Steven Legendre of OU is the top vaulter.  Penn State's Warren Yang leads PB.  Rankings are by season average.

WMU 192.35 at UIC 192.7

UIC defeated visiting WMU in a Monday afternoon meet, holding off WMU on the last event.  UIC was led by Andie Skala, who won the AA and the FX.  WMU's Caitlin Sullivan won the UB and tied for 1st on VT with teammate Lauren Bledsoe and UIC's Chantel Turk.  WMU's Brynn Wienckowski won the UB.

WVU 192.125 at UGA 196.725

Georgia posted a 196.725 in rolling to a win at home over WVU.  That's the nation's 2nd highest score thus far.  Cassidy McComb led the way for UGA, winning BB and FX en route to a 39.525 AA win.  Frosh teammate Lindsey Cheek won the VT while Kat Ding won the UB.

Women's National Rankings for the Week of January 17th

This week's rankings, by total season average, has several new names as new teams got into action and we saw some big swings in scores earned.  There were a number of teams that had problems on various events this week, while others that had troubles last week managed to improve their hit ratios.  All rankings are from Troester GymInfo.  Because the rankings were compiled on late Sunday night, it appears Ohio State did not enter their scores in time.  Otherwise, they would drop to 25th in the rankings.  Florida holds onto the top spot, with Stanford, who did not compete, in 2nd.  Bama takes over the top spot on VT, while Florida is #1 on UB.  Florida also holds the top spot on FX, while Stanford remains on top on BB.

Towson 191.05, Bridgeport 190.1 at Brown 188.05

Towson won the Sunday tri-meet with Bridgeport and host Brown.  Kacy Cantanzaro and Avis Hixon won UB and VT, respectively, for the Tigers.  Lorraine Galow won the AA for Bridgeport, while teammates Emily Repko and Monica Mesalles added wins on BB and FX.  Brown had its highest first meet total ever.

MSU 191.175 at Pittsburgh 192.15

Pittsburgh came from behind to overtake Michigan State in a meet Sunday afternoon.  Frosh Brittney Harris led Pitt to victory, winning the VT and the AA.  Teammate Molly Moyer won FX while teammate Katie O'Rourke tied with MSU's Serena Bumbarger for the BB title.  MSU's Daneen Haba won the UB.

Washington posted a 194.825 to win a quad meet over Boise State, Illinois State and SPU.  UW's Ruby Engreitz won the UB, the only Husky to win an individual event.  Boise State's Amy Glass won the AA with a 39.325, picking up wins on the VT and BB in the process.  Teammate Hannah Redmon won the FX.
