In Day 1 of the Event Finals at the 2017 World Gymnastics Championships, gymnasts with NCAA ties brought home medals. On the Men's FX, OU's Yul Moldauer won the bronze. On the Women's vault, Oregon State commit Jade Carey earned a silver, just missing out on the title to Russia's Maria Paseka. On PH, former Sooner Alex Naddour finished 4th.
Donna Howell from United Sports Academy has committed to PSU. Last season she finished 9th AA at her state meet and 11th AA at regionals.
Florida commit Morgan Hurd was the surprise winner in Montreal at the World Championships this evening, earning the title of 2017 Women's All-Around World Champion. She edged Canada's Ellie Black, who earned an historic silver medal for her country. Russia's Elena Eremina was 3rd. Pre-meet favorite Ragan Smith, an OU commit, had to withdraw with an ankle injury suffered in warmups.

Xiao Ruoteng of China posted an 86.933 to edge teammate Lin Chaopan and claim the title of 2017 Men's World All-Around champion at the World Championships in Montreal. Kenzo Shirai of Japan was 3rd. OU's Yul Moldauer placed 7th.

Kelly Jackson from Hill's has committed to Air Force. Last season she finished 10th AA at her state meet and qualified to regionals.

All four American women advanced to Finals at the preliminaries of the World Championships.
Logan Clagg of Central California Gymnastics Institute has committed to UC Davis. Last season she placed 7th AA at the NorCal meet. She placed 1st on floor and 5th AA at regionals. She finished 12th AA at JOs.
OU's Yul Moldauer qualified 7th to the AA final and 3rd to the FX final at the World Championships in Montreal. Former Sooner Alex Naddour was 3rd on PH and made the final. He's also the first reserve on Rings. The USA's Donnell Whittenburg made the FX final as well.
Abbey Ward of Orlando Metro has committed to UGA. She was 1st on bars and 3rd AA at her 2017 state meet. She also won bars at regionals and placed 6th AA. She was 40th AA at JOs.
Sterlyn Austin of Georgia Elite has committed to WMU. She placed 1st on floor and 4th AA at her 2017 state meet. She finished the season with a 12th place finish at regionals.
Sofia Sullivan of Azarian has committed to Utah State. Last season she placed 13th AA at her state meet. She placed 1st on beam and 14th AA at regionals.
Maddie Griffith of Naperville Gymnastics has committed to TWU. Last season she placed 2nd AA at her regional meet and 37th AA at JOs.
Gianna Gerdes of Gym X-treme has committed to Minnesota. Last season she placed 3rd AA at her regional meet and 10th AA at JOs.
Gianna Graver from Infiniti has committed to UNH. Last season she placed 8th AA at both her state and regional meets.
Sanya Glauber of Wildfire Gymnastics has committed to Maryland. Last season she competed two events at her state and regional meets. She placed 1st on bars at her state meet and 2nd on bars at regionals.
Paige Sorensen to Lindenwood of Desert Devils has committed to Lindenwood. Last season she placed 5th AA at her state meet, 9th AA at regionals, and 34th AA at JOs.
