The regular season concludes with the final NQS (National Qualifying Score) rankings of 2024.  The Top 36 teams now advance to post-season competition.  Big 12 champ OU leads the way with a 198.5.  SEC champ LSU takes back the #2 slot at 198.215, while Cal is 3rd at 198.18.   Back in 4th is Florida at 197.905, just ahead of Pac 12 champ Utah at 197.895.  Just 0.1 separates #4 Florida to #8 Bama.

OU finished as #1 in the Regular Season on VT, UB and BB.   LSU finished as the top team on FX.

Individually, LSU's Haleigh Bryant finished the season as the #1 AAer, with OU's Jordan Bowers in 2nd and Cal's eMjae Frazier in 3rd.  Bryant finished tied for 1st on VT with UCLA's Selena Harris.  Bowers finished tied with teammate Audrey Davis for the top spot on UB.  Sooner Ragan Smith was #1 on BB and UK's Raena Worley was #1 on FX.

The Top 16 teams will be seeded into the four Regionals.  These are assigned by quadruples consisting of team 1-16-8-9, 2-15-7-10, 3-14-6-11, etc   A Regional host teem in the quartet will anchor that quartet in that Region.  If there is more than one Regional host in the quartet, the conflicting host (of lower rank) is swapped with the next nearest non-hosting team in the rankings.  The Top 28 teams (or so, teams are swapped around) are given spots in the Regional Second Round.  Eight teams are placed into "play-in meets" (typically 29 to 36, but sometimes there are shifts with spot #29 with a higher ranked team).  The announcement is set for Monday, March 25th at 12 pm ET.  Any team within 400 miles of a Regional is supposed to be sent to that Regional.

The head-to-head competition at the larger Conference meets showed some finishes that defied the ranking order.  In two weeks, we'll likely see some of the Top Seeds face heavy challenges for spots in the Regional Finals.
