US Classic: NCAA Related Results

Claire Pease won the AA and VT titles at the US Classic, the final precursor to the US Championships.  Florida commit Simone Rose (2026) was 2nd and Arkansas' Joscelyn Roberson was 3rd.  UGA signee Brooke Pierson was 4th.  UCLA signee Ashlee Sullivan was 6th AA and 1st on BB while Stanford commit Alicia Zhou (2026) was tied for 8th AA.  UCLA incoming frosh Jordis Eichman was 10th.  Florida commit Dulcy Caylor was 11th was LSU commit Hezly Rivera and UCLA commit Nola Matthews tied for 12th.  LSU commit Annalisa Milton was 14th.

Individually, Michigan's Myli Lew won the UB.  2027 recruit Reese Esponda posted the top mark on FX.  A total of 29 athletes were slated to compete, including 23 in the AA.  Florida grad Leanne Wong competed two events while 2026 Florida commit Jayla Hang competed the same two events.

2025-2026: Topchishvili to Kentucky

Ellie Topchishvili a L10 at the US Gymnastics Development Center II, has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Kentucky, starting in 2025-2026.  This past season, she placed 10th AA at the Region 7 L10 Regionals.  She was the regional co-champ on BB in 2023.

2026-2027: Unger to UC Davis

Stella Unger, a L10 at Sonshine, has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at UC Davis, starting in 2026-2027.  She qualified to the 2025 Women's Development Program (WDP) L10 National after placing 5th AA at the Region 8 L10 Regionals.  She also placed 40th AA at the 2023 and 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.

2025-2026: Malewski to Clemson

German National Team member Emma Malewski has signed with Clemson.  She was the 2022 European Champion on the BB and the AA runnerup in the AA at the 2023 German Championships.  A foot injury kept her out of the 2023 World Championships, and a shoulder injury derailed her Olympic plans in 2024.

Illinois State Adds Three for 2025-2026

Illinois State has confirmed the signing of three athletes for 2025-2026:  Mizzou transfer Courntey Woods, Kamryn Banach and Mia Foy.

Illinois State Completes Coaching Staff

New Illinois State Head Coach Cassandra Ringer has announced the retention of assistant Kendra Combs and the hiring of new assistant coach Adeline Kenlin.  Kenlin was a standout at Iowa.  A two-time All-American and the 2022 national runner-up on BB.

Michigan Head Coach Bev Plocki has retired from her post after 36 seasons of coaching.   She led the Wolverines to 26 Big Ten Championships and one National Team Title.  She led the Wolverines to 26 Big Ten championships, the most by any coach in any sport in Big Ten history  An 11-time Big Ten Coach of the Year and two-time National Coach of the Year, her athletes have secured 212 NCAA All-America honors and nine NCAA individual titles.  In an emotional video statement, she stated she was retiring in order to devote her full focus on helping her husband in his second battle with leukemia.  

Maile'ana Kanewa-Hermelyn has been elevated to Head Coach, as part of a planned transition.  She has spent seven years with Michigan as an assistant.  She was a standout at OU, taking part in two National Championships and earning two first team All-American honors and two Big 12 Vault titles.

2026-2027: Casselman to Yale

Emmy Cassleman, a L10 from Gotham, has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Yale, starting in 2026-2027.  This past season, she tied for 36th AA at the Women's Development Program L10 Nationals.  A two-time L10 National qualifier, she was the Region 6 AA and UB champ in 2025.

2025-2026: Bare to Ball State

Kinlee Bare, a L10 from Dybnamo, has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Ball State, starting this season.  This past season, she tied for 10th on VT and 24th AA at the Women's Development Program L10 Nationals.  She's a three-tine L10 National qualifier.

2026-2027: J. Gohar to Illinois

Judy (Abdallah) Gohar, a member of the Egyptian National team, has committed to a full scholarship offer at Illinois, starting in 2026-2027. Earlier this season she won bronzes on VT and UB at the Cairo World Cup.  She also took the silver medal in the AA at the 2024 African Championships.

2025-2026: Scott to Cal

Lucia Scott, a Canadian L10 who trains at Inspire Sports, has signed with Cal for 2025-2026.  She originally graduated in 2024.

Cal (W) Hires McClure as an Assistant

Cal has hired Air Force Head Coach Brittany McClure as an assistant.  She has spent the last five years at Air Force.  Prior to that, she worked at Ursinus, Ball State and Airborne (CA).  She was also an athlete at TwU.

2025-2026: Richardson to UAA

Tessa Richardson, a L10 from Cascade Elite West, has committed to the University of Alaska Anchorage, starting this season.  This past season, she placed 45th AA at the Women's Development Program L10 Nationals.

2025-2026: Bryner to WVU

Joslyn Bryner, a L10 from Momentum has committed to compete for and attend WVU, starting this year.  This past season she placed 7th on UB in the individual event specialist session at the Women's Development Program L10 Nationals.  She also placed 10th AA at the Region 1 L10 Regionals.

NIU Names Teague as New Head Coach

NIU has named Nita Teague as their new Head Coach.  She had been serving as the interim Head Coach since last September.  Prior to that, she was the associate Head Coach.  A former athlete at NIU, she has been on the coaching staff for 19 years.  Prior to Energym, she spend 22 years at Energym.
