EMU has secured a commitment from L10 Mickayla Stuckey. Mickayla competes for Cincinnati Gymnastics. Last season she finished 1st on beam, floor and the AA at her state meet. She placed 9th AA at regionals.
The 2-17 Capsule Previews for the Top 25 Women's Teams, as determined by the Preseason Coaches' Poll, are now available. In each case, we have summarized the rosters and list of newcomers, and quickly summarized their prospects and challenges. We're unveiling the first 12 today, and will follow up with teams ranked #13 to #25 shortly.
Oklahoma tops the Women's Preseason Coaches' Poll, as voted by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches, Women (NACGC/W). They earned 47 first place votes to #2 LSU with 11. #3 Bama has five first place votes, edging#4 UCLA who also has five. Florida is fifth (2 first place votes) and Utah sixth (two first place votes).
Alyssa Gardner has committed to Brown. She competes at Level 10 for Hamburg Gymnastics. Last season she placed 2nd AA at regionals and 48th AA At JOs. She just kicked off her 2017 season with a 3rd place finish at the Pinky Stone Memorial and a 3rd place finish (1st on vault) at the COTC.
Kate Nelson, L10 from Gymtowne, will head to Brown next year. She competed at regionals in 2016, finishing 9th AA.

Claire Haklik, L10 from Georgia Gymnastics Academy, will compete for Cornell in 2018. Last season she finished 7th AA at both her state and regional meets and 47th AA at JOs.
Isabelle Lee, L10 at 10.0 Academy, has committed to Yale. Last season she placed 1st on bars and won her state meet. She was 7th AA at regionals and 30th AA at JOs.
Cael Bixler of Prestige Gymnastics has committed to Oklahoma. Last season she finished 4th AA at her state meet. She also competed at the Secret Classic, finishing 28th AA.
Peyton Earnst had announced her intention to transfer to Alabama. She's due to start school in January. She spent last season at Florida, but chose to transfer rather than retire (due to her ongoing injuries).

Kiya Johnson of Texas Dreams has committed to Georgia. In 2015 she finished 5th AA at JOs. In 2016 she finished 1st on vault and AA at the Texas Prime and she competed at the Secret Classic.

WMU has announced the signing of Ashley Beatty, Alliah Harrison, Stacie Harrison, Alexis Olivier, Sarah Shirley and Morgan Spence for 2017-2018. The commits of all six were covered in prior news items.

Keara Loughlin, L10 at Legends Gymnastics, has committed to compete for Southern Connecticut. She finished 5th AA at her 2016 state meet and 15th AA at regionals.
