NC State 195.075 at Pittsburgh 194.15

NC State defeated host Pittsburgh, led by Michaela Woodford's 39.175 AA win. She also took the BB. Teammate Chelsea Knight won the VT. For Pitt, Lindsay Offutt won the FX and teammate Taylor Laymon won the UB. Link: NC State Release

Kentuck 195.825 at Missouri 195.15

Kentucky's Montana Whittle and Shannon Mitchell tied for the BB title as UK downed host Mizzou. Teammate Taylor Puryear tied with Missouri frosh Kennedi Harris and Shauna Miller for the FX title. Miller won the UB, VT and AA (39.325). Link: Mizzou Release

Ohio State 195.65 at Bowling Green 195.2

2017-18 Noonan to Illinois

We're almost halfway through the season, and we're going to see a switch to the Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) in a few weeks. Now that the jitters and novelty of the new season is wearing off, we're starting to see some clear trends emerge. "Slow Starters" are making big improvements while "Early Leaders" are finding new teams nipping at their heels. As we head into the "mid-point shakeup", here are some observations.
We're a full month into the season and we're going to take a break from our regular weekly recap to take a look at how judges score routines. But rather than explaining the basics, we are offering a course in "Scoring 201": an intermediate look at some of the deductions beyond the obvious and clear deductions taken by the judges. We are hoping to shed light on where the judges in more strictly judged meets are taking their deductions, for fans that may be unfamiliar with the more subtle points of scoring. Ball State 190.45 at SUU 194.8

SUU defeated visiting Ball State on Monday night. SUU's Jamie Armijo posted a meet-high 9.9 to win the UB and lead the Thunderbirds to the win. Teammates Danielle Ramirez and Stacie Webb won VT and BB, respectively. Ball State's Denasiha Christian won another FX title. Link: SUU Release

Men's: W&M 403.4 at Navy 408.55

Navy pulled out a win, despite missing several athletes to injury. In a twist, this was Navy's final home meet of the season. Jonny Tang won the AA with an 82.6. Link: Navy Release
OU broke 440 again to score a big tri-meet win over Iowa and Ohio State. Nine different OU gymnasts grabbed at least a share of an event title, but no one won more than one. Michael Reid won the PH with a meet-high 15.7. Link: OU Release
