Led by Auburn incoming frosh Suni Lee, the US won the silver medal in the Women's Team Final. The team formed by the Russian Olympic Committee placed first. The US was without the services of star Simone Biles, who shockingly pulled out of the competition after the first event. In her absence, Lee added FX and UCLA signee Jordan Chiles competed AA, along with incoming Ute Grace McClaughlin. The UK won the bronze medal. That squad included Ute commit Amelie Morgan.

Iowa has hired Quest Hayden as an assistant. He's a former assistant at UNC. Prior to his year at UNC, he was a volunteer assistant at Michigan and UNC. He was also a competitor for PSU. He replaces Vince Smurro, who is now at Stanford.

Washington has announced the hiring of Jeffrey Langenstein and Cody Llewellyn as assistants. Langenstein has been an assistant at San Jose St the last three season. Prior to that, he was an assistant for two seasons at Lindenwood and two as a volunteer assistant at Cal. Llewellyn was an assistant at Lindenwood for the last three season and is husband to Head Coach Jen Llewellyn.

Yale and the NCAA gymnastics community mourns the passing of Head Coach Barbara Tonry. The legendary coach had been with Yale since the inception of the women's program in 1973. She was the longest tenured coach in NCAA Gymnastics (corrected).

Cartwright is a former MSU gymnast and former assistant coach at Alaska.
She will return to Utah to finish her degree, but she has no plans to continue competing.
Catelyn Orel has been named the new Head Coach at Lindenwood. She's been an assistant at Arkansas the last two seasons. A former Nebraska gymnast, she's a native of Blue Springs, Missouri.

USA Gymnastics named the women's team for the 2021 Olympics: Simone Biles, UCLA signee Jordan Chiles, Auburn signee Suni Lee, and Utah signee Grace McCallum. Also named were Oregon State's Jade Carey and and former Ute MyKayla Skinner. The four replacement athletes include Florida commit Kayla DiCello, Utah signee Kara Eaker, UCLA signee Emma Malabuyo and Florida signee Leanne Wong.
