Rose Woo won the women's senior high performance title at the 2022 Canadian Championships.  Former CMU standout Denelle Pedrick was 2nd AA.  Emma Spence, NU, finished in 4th place and earned 3rd place finishes on vault and bars.  Sydney Turner, Iowa commit, 5th AA; 2nd on bars and 4th on floor.  Kyra Cato, a SJSU signee, placed 9th AA and 4th on beam.

Bama grad Shallon Olsen placed 1st on VT (two day total)

In the Women's National Open, Level 10 division, Pitt commit Kennedy Duke won the AA title.   Lindenwood commit Nya Kraus was 7th AA.

Clemson Signs Six in Inaugural Class

Clemson has announced the signing of six transfer signees for their inaugural class.  All six come to the Tigers from Utah State and will sit out next season before the full team begins competition in 2024.  They will enroll this fall. The six are:  Molly Arnold, Trinity Brown, Brie Clark, Eve Jackson, Kielyn McCright, and Rebecca Wells

Alabama moved quickly to hire former standout Ashley Priess-Johnston as their new Head Coach.  She had been serving as the Associate Head Coach at rival Auburn.  Prior to her four seasons at Auburn, she was an assistant at Illinois.  A seven time member of the US National team and a top ten finisher at the World Championships, she was a 10 time All-American and a five-time NCAA Regional champion.

Utah State has hired ASU assistant Kristin White as their new Head Coach.  Prior to ASU, she was an assistant at Iowa State and a coach at Dynamo.  As Kristin Smith, she was an All-American at OU, graduating in 2010.

Alabama Head Coach Dana Duckworth has elected to step down following her eight season.  In a release, she said:  "This decision was not an easy one as I am forever grateful to our student-athletes, their families, my staff and fellow coaches. The University of Alabama is a special place and I care deeply about the gymnastics program, but after 27 years of involvement, I have decided to step down and focus on my family for now."

Gina Quinlan will serve as the interim head coach until a replacement is named.

Abby Brenner transfers to Utah

Abby Brenner will spend her 5th year of eligibility at Utah, per her announcement.  She transfers from Michigan.

LSU's Aleah Finnegan won the silver on BB, as she finished the SEA Games with a total of four medals:  a gold on VT and in the team, silver on both BB and the AA.  Rachel Yeoh Li Wen of Malaysia won the Gold on BB.

Here are the results for the 16+ age groups in the JN 10 and JE 10 divisions at the Men's DP Nationals.   

LSU's Aleah Finnegan won the VT title at the Southeast Asia Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.   She is representing the Philippines, the country of her mother's birth.

Iowa GymAct won the title at the Men's USAG GymACT Championships, led by senior Evan Davis win the AA.  They snapped Arizona's (formerly ASU) streak of 14 straight titles.  Iowa's program was cut from full NCAA status following the 2020-2021 season.  They tallied 319.95 to defeat Arizona at 315.6 and the University of Washington at 302.35.  Iowa's Carter Tope finished 2nd AA, just 0.1 behind Davis.  Arizona's Jordan Williams was 3rd, just 0.15 off of the Davis.  

Davis had the top score on FX while Tope was first on PH and PB.  Yaroslav Owens-Pochinka of the University of Minnesota (another team that was cut last season) had the top mark on Rings.  Amari Sewell of Iowa was 1st on VT while teammate Zac Tiderman had the top mark on HB.
