SPU has terminated their Division II Women's Gymnastics program, effective immediately. All scholarship awards for existing and incoming gymnasts will be honored. The program started in 1974 and has brought forth 3 National Team Titles, 32 individual National Titles, and 221 All-American awards.

Green has been an Assistant Coach at Iowa for six seasons.
UNC's Derek Galvin will retire after 39 years as Head Coach at the program. Born in Ireland, he moved to the US at the age of 10 and competed for UNC before taking over as Head Coach in 1981. Assistant Marie Case Denick will be the interim Head Coach until a permanent replacement is named.

WVU has hired Zaakira Muhammad as an assistant coach. The former Mountaineer standout and All-American was an assistant at EMU last season. Prior to that, she was a graduate assistant at Temple.

Penn has promoted former Assistant and Quaker standout Kirsten (Strausbaugh) Becker as the new Head Coach. She's been an assistant for the last five years. Former Head Coach John Ceralde resigned on March 19th.

Florida's Jenny Rowland has been named the National Coach of the Year by the WCGA. OU's Lou Ball and Tom Haley were named Assistant Coaches of the Year.

Long Island University has added a gymnastics program and it has named Randy Lane to the head coach position.
The NCAA is considering legislation that would reduce the number of sports schools need to sponsor to qualify for Division I status. This would enable schools to further cut collegiate sports, in particular non-revenue Olympic sports. The Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition has started a petition. Please consider signing it today.
According to the coalition: "If the NCAA grants a waiver allowing for a reduction of the number of sports sponsorships for Division 1 qualification it would be a devastating, permanent blow to college athletes and forever alter the fabric of university life."
