Jacob Wins Honda Cup

Bama's Kim Jacob was named the Collegiate Women Sports Awards Athlete of the Year and awarded the Honda Cup.  This all-sport award has been awarded to only two other gymnasts:  Utah's Missy Marlowe and UGA's Courtney Kupets.

Arkansas has promoted former standout Samantha Cortez to Assistant Head Coach.  She has served as an assistant for the past three seasons, and was Director of Gymnastics Operations for the two seasons prior to that.

Rutgers has promoted Danielle D'Elia to a full assistant.  The former Scarlet Knight standout has been serving as a volunteer assistant.

Ohio State has hired former standout Taylor Jones as an assistant.  She's served as an assistant at BGSU the last two seasons.  She replaces Meredith Yonushonis.

SUU Hires AhQuin as an Assistant

SUU has announced the hiring of Adam AhQuin as an assistant.  He served as an assistant from 2008 to 2010.  Most recently, he has been a club coach at GMS Gymnastics.

Arkansas Hires Pisani as Assistant

Arkansas has announced the hiring of former standout Jaime Pisani as an assistant.  She had been serving as the Director of Gymnastics Operations.

PSU Hires Richards as an Assistant

PSU has hired Jeff Richards as an assistant.  He comes to PSU from GWU, where he was an assistant.  He was Head Coach at USU from 2008 to 2013.

Canadian Championships: Event Finals

On vault, PSU signee Briannah Tsang won, defeating UF commit Maeghan Chant and Maryland commit Kirsten Peterman.

On UB, Ellie Black edged newcomer Isabela Onyshko.  Victoria Moors was third.

Onyshko took the beam, with Peterman 2nd.  Ohio State signee Stefanie Merkle was third.

Moors took the win on floor, just edging our Chant and Merkle.

ASU has announced the hiring of Craig Ballard as an assistant coach.  He's spent the last two seasons as an assistant at Kent State.  Prior to that, he was an assisant at Bowling Green.

Anna Gamelo won the National Open title in the Women's 16+ division at the Canadian Championships.  She posted a score of 57.45 under the Canadian system.  In second was Marisa Dick, with Rachel Pantano in third.  UGA signee Vivi Babalis was fourth.  Former CMU athlete Tenishia Tomlinson was 7th.

In the Senior Men's competition, Robert Watson won the title.  Simon Porter was 2nd and Rene Cournoyer was third.  Some of the top men only competed select individual events.

ASU Hires Hunt as an Assistant

ASU has hired Jeff Hunt as an assistant.  He's been an assistant at SUU.  He's been an assistant for eight years, the last three as a full time assistant coach, the first five as a volunteer.
