The NCAA, in a live show, released the fields for the six Women's Regionals. Although the Top 18 seeding went much as predicted based on the criteria, there are a few surprises in places 4 to 6 in each Region. The Committee has seemingly scrambled a few teams to account for geographic proximity and to adjust the strength of each Regional. With increasing parity and noticeable scoring discrepancies skewing the RQS rankings, the #4 and #5 teams are increasingly "in play" for the last slot at Nationals.
Here are the top 36 Women's Regional Qualifiers, as published by Troester GymInfo. The Top 18 teams will be seeded into each of the six regions in trios of teams ranked 1-12-13, 2-11-14, 3-10-15, 4-9-16, 5-8-17, 6-7-18. Where the trios contain two or more host teams, the trios will be exchanged with the next nearest trio. In breaking the trios, the higher ranked team is given preference.
