Bama overcame UGA's first half lead to edge the visiting GymDogs in front of 14,501 fans. The Tide's Geralen Stack Eaton scored the nation's first 10.0, hitting the mark on vault. Teammate Ashley Preiss tied for the FX title with teammate Marissa Gutierrez. On UB, six gymnasts tied for the top spot: Stack-Eaton and Priess, and UGA's Christa Tanella, Shayla Worley, Gina Nuccio and Kat Ding. Worley's 9.95 was good for the BB title. Bama's Ashley Sledge won the AA with a 39.4.

NU rolled to a huge 197.375 win over Denver, paced by super frosh Jessie DeZiel, who posted a huge 39.575 AA. She also took the FX with a 9.925. Even more remarkably, NU posted the score with just seven gymnasts. Husker Janelle Giblin won VT and UB, while teammate Emily Wong won BB.

Maryland won their home opener, led by Katy Dodd 9.9 win on VT. Teammate Karen Tang won UB, while another teammate, Ally Krikorian, won FX. For Pitt, Alicia Talucci won the BB.

Frosh Lloimincia Hall of LSU won the AA with a 39.2 as the LSU Tigers rebounded from the opening meet to defeat the AU Tigers. Hall also claimed a share of the FX crown with frosh teammate Rheagan Courville and AU's Kylie Shields. Courville also won the VT. Another frosh, Jessie Jordan, won the BB. For AU, Toi Garcia won the UB.

Michigan started with a strong 49.3 on VT and overcame troubles on BB to close strong on FX. Katie Zurales led the way for Michigan, winning the BB and the AA with a 39.3. Teammate Joanna Sampson won the VT, while fellow Wolverine Brittnee Martinez won UB. Natalie Beilstein completed the sweep on FX.

Ball State picked up their first win of the year, using a strong FX rotation to power to the win. Teammates Kayla Kmiecek and Aftyn Siemer led Ball State with winning marks. Teammate Nicole Allen tied with Illinois State's Tori Sarantakis for the VT title. Illinois State's Kim Genereux won UB, while Melissa Mann won BB.

UW Eau Claire claimed the quad meet invitational. UW Eau Claire's Danielle Schulzetenberg won BB and teammate Rachel Behmer on UB as Eau Claire rolled to victory. For Hamline, Courtney Benson won the FX and the AA. Jena Jondahl claimed vault for Winona St.

SEMO's Taryn Vanderpool won the UB and the AA, but it wasn't enough as the NIU Huskies used a team effort to defeat SEMO. SEMO's Megan Fosnow won the vault while teammate Taylor Westrick won BB and Emma Garrett won FX.

The FIG has named individual qualifiers to the 2012 London Olympics. Earlier this week, additional men's and women's teams qualified to the Games by placing in the top four. Spots on the teams already qualified plus the one qualifer each from teams placing five to eight will be determined by those countries at a later date.
Simona Castro Lazo (DU) of Chile was named as a qualifier outright. In addition, Sasa Golub (ex Towson) of Slovenia and Jessica Lopez (ex DU) of Venezuela were named as one of two candidates to represent their countries.

A number of former NCAAers were in action at the London Test Event, a team qualification event for the London Olympics. The top four teams qualified to join the eight previous Olympic qualifiers. Among those ex NCAAers competing were Casey Sandy (PSU) and Tommy Ramos (PSU).
Representing the US as an individual, in order to gain international exposure, was former OU star Steven Legendre. He advanced to the vault finals.

#1 UCLA hung on at home for a narrow win over Utah. The Bruins took a big lead on their first event only to squander it on BB. The Utes struggled on their first event but just fell short of passing the Bruins in the Final event. Samantha Peszek led the way for UCLA, winning the AA with a 39.45. Teammates Tauny Frattone and Aisha Gerber won VT and UB, respectively. Utah's Stephanie McCallister won BB while frosh Georgia Dabritz won FX.

Frosh Sariaye Jensen helped lead Alaska-Anchorage to the home win. Se won the AA and the UB. For Cortland State, Elise Konikoff won BB and Marissa Goodstein won Vault. The Seawolves Melissa Doucette tied with Kaelei Spoor for the FX title.
