2025-2026: Mendoza to WVU

Hailey Mendoza, a L10 from Queen City, has committed to a full scholarship offer at WVU, starting in 2025-2026.  In 2024, she placed 17th AA at the Women's Development Program L10 Nationals.  This past season, she posted a new career high in the AA of a 38.0.  After missing the later half of the season, she returned to tie for 2nd on UB at the Region 5 L10 Regionals.

Men's: Michigan Wins Session 2

Host Michigan posted a 329.824 to defeat Stanford's 329.028 to set up a showdown in tomorrow's final.  Illinois posted a 323.194 to advance as well.  Ohio State was 4th at 319.459, Army 5th at 311.091 and Navy 6th at 308.056.  Michigan's Fred Richard posted the top mark of the day on PB while teammate Carson Eshleman edged Richard for the top mark of the day on HB.  That event will be key for the Wolverines on Saturday, as they posted the top three marks in Session 2.  Stanford's Taylor Burkhart had the top mark of the day on FX, while teammate Khoi Young had the top mark of the session on PH.  Cardinal Asher Hong had the top mark of the day on R.  For Illinois, Garrett Schooley posted the top mark of the session on VT.

Men's: Nebraska Wins Session 1

Nebraska posted a 324.894 to win the first session of the qualifying round at the Men's NCAAs.  OU was 2nd at 323.46 and PSU 3rd at 321.992.  They advance to the final.  Cal was 4th at 319.091, Air Force 5th at 313.526 and W&M 6th at 307.691.  Finals are tomorrow.  NU was led by Yanni Chronopoulos, who posted the top mark on PB and Asher Cohen, who tied for the top mark on R with OU'S Matthew Burgoyne.  OU'S Emre Dodanli was the top worker on FX, while PSU's Akseli Karsikis had the top mark on HB.  Air Force's Patrick Hoopes had the top mark of the day on any event, with a 15.033 on PH.  Teammate Erich Upton had the top AA mark at 79.23.  Cal's Jasper Smith-Gordon was the top vaulter.

Clemson announced a change in gymnastics leadership, in a very short statement.  Amy Smith and Clemson are parting ways and a national search will be launched for a replacement.

Taylor Christopulos of NU was named the winner of the 2025 Nissen-Emery Award.  The award is given to the top senior student-athlete.

NCAA AA and Event Champions Crowned

Oklahoma's Jordan Bowers won the AA with a 39.7125 out of the first session to claim the 2025 NCAA AA title.  Utah's Grace McCallum was 2nd and OU's Faith Torrez was 3rd. 

Utah excelled on their final event to pull ahead and win the second semi-final of the NCAA Finals.  UCLA suffered an injury on VT And overcame a missed connection on BB to power ahead and claim the second spot in the finals, just a whisper behind Utah.  The two former Pac 12 conference rivals upended #1 and defending champ LSU.  LSU had a few small mistakes in the first two events but came back to take the lead after the FX.  But they ended up sticking just one vault and the two U teams pulled ahead.  MSU ended in 4th at 197.3625, falling behind after a few small mistakes on FX.

Grace McCallum posted the session's highest AA tally at 39.675.  UCLA's Jordan Chiles had the top mark of the day on UB at 9.975 while teammate Brooklyn Moors had the top mark of the day on FX at 9.9625.  Bruin Emma Malabuyo had the top mark in the session at 9.975.  LSU's Kailin Chio won the VT with a 9.975.

OU posted a 197.55 to win the first semifinal the Women's NCAA Championships.  Missouri was 2nd and advanced to the final, posting a 197.3 to edge Florida's 197.2.  Bama was 4th at 196.825.  OU's Jordan Bowers posted a 39.7125 to take first in this session and lead the AA.  She also tied for the top spot on FX with teammate Faith Torrez and with three others for the top spot on UB:  Mizzou's Mara Titarsolej and Gators Leanne Wong and Alyssa Arana.  Gator Danie Ferris posted the only 9.9 of the day to lead VT while Missouri's Helen Hu leads the BB with a commanding 9.9875.

2026-2027: A. Anderson to Missouri

Addison Anderson, a L10 from San Mateo, has committed to a full scholarship offer at Missouri, starting in 2026-2027.  Anderson recently placed 1st on UB and 5th AA at the Region 1 L10 Regionals.  She also won NorCal state titles on the UB and BB and tied for the AA title.  Competing mostly in two events last season, she placed 2nd on BB and 8th on UB in her division as an individual event specialist at the Women's Development Program L10 Nationals.

2025-2026: Kisch to SJSU

Victoria Kisch, a L10 from Incline, has committed to San Jose State, starting in 2025-2026.  This past weekend, she placed 1st on UB and 6th AA at the Region 3 L10 Regionals.  Last season, she placed 4th on UB as an individual event specialist at the Women's Development Program L10 Nationals.

Jade Carey Named AAI Award WInner

Oregon State's Jade Carey has been named the AAI Award winner, honoring the NCAA"s top senior athlete.  She is undefeated thus far this season on the BB and the AA, winning 51 event titles.

Illinois has said it will not renew the contract of Head Coach Nadalie Walsh.  Illinois will begin a national search for a new coach immediately.

Iowa State Associate Head Coach Ryan Snider is leaving the school and collegiate coaching, according to his Instagram post.

Morgan Price of Fisk dominated the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships at Centenary on Sunday.  The two-time AA champion won the vault, balance beam and floor exercise, and shared the uneven bar title with TWU's Kaitlyn Hoiland.
