UNH's Chelsea Steinberg won the BB and tied with teammate Helena Diodati on the VT to lead the Wildcats. Teammate Danielle Reibold won the UB, while another teammate, Katie Caliendo, won the FX. The Wildcats suffered problems on UB, but pulled out team wins on the other three events.

Oregon State, led by standout frosh Makayla Stambaugh's big 39.275 AA title, cruised to a big pin with a 195.625. Illinois posted a 192.85, while Air Force posted a 184.475 to beat Alaska's 183.475. Competing like a veteran, Stambaugh posted a 9.85 to win the FX. Teammate Laura Ann Chong posted two victories, winning the BB while tying with teammate Leslie Mak on the UB. She also tied for 2nd on FX with Illinois' Allison Buckley. Buckley tied for the FX title with the Beaver's Mandi Rodriguez.

Nebraska cruised to a big victory, winning all four events and the AA. Maria Scaffidi posted a 39.0 and won FX. Teammate Kylie Stone sat out the FX but won VT and tied with fellow Huskers Britnee Habbib and Kathryn Howard for the BB title. Habbib also won the UB title, showing nice back and front stalder work. UW settled down after a jittery first two rotations, led by Hatsune Akaogi.

A solid and well-prepared OU squad defeated the Gators, who ran into trouble in their opening event. OU was led by Holly Vise, who won BB with a 9.9 and tied with teammates Natasha Kelley and Jackie Flanery for the UB title. Flanery won the FX as well. For Florida, frosh Ashanee Dickerson's 39.35 AA led a powerful charge from the newcomers, especially the newly arrived Marissa King and Liz Green. Dickerson tied for the VT title with teammate Maranda Smith.

LSU won their home opener, posting a 194.375 to defeat the Terrapins. Susan Jackson won the AA with a 39.275 while teammate Kayla Rogers posted three scores of 9.8+, including a win on VT. Jackson won UB and FX, while teammate Summer Hubbard won BB.

Iowa State hit 22 for 24 routines to post a big opening meet win. ISU's Michelle Browning posted a 38.8 to take the AA title. She also won the FX, while three teammates each won an event. Jody McKellar won VT, Ceilia Maccani won UB and Ashley Kent won BB.

Michigan State posted a big win in its opener, edging higher ranked and 2009 Nationals qualifier Penn State. MSU posted a 193.925 to edge Penn State at 193.9. WVU posted a 191.225 while Western Michigan marked a 189.525. Penn State's Brandi Personnett dominated, winning the VT, BB and FX en route to a 39.225 AA victory. WVU's Naja Johnson won UB.

Led by Mary Burke's first AA win (39.2), Mizzou posted an impressive first meet total. Burke also posted wins on UB and FX. Teammate Sarah Shire captured both the VT and BB, but a fall on her Gienger following a wayward giant full kept her off the AA pace. Ohio State competed just six athletes, as Beth Ann Ballard went down with a reported ACL injury in warmups. In three events, just five athletes competed.

Bama hit five BB routines in a row to close out the meet and pull out the cross-state win. Bama's Geralan Stack Eaton won the AA with a 39.225 while teammates Morgan Dennis and frosh Ashley Sledge won VT and UB, respectively.

Winona State defeated Wisconsin-Stout last night, 173.275 to 164.1 Winona's Heather Rummelein won the AA with a 36.75, including a victory on FX and a tie on VT with UW Stout's Naomi DeLara. DeLara also won BB.

Some college recruits are out of the gates early with impressive finishes at a handful of November and December L10 meets. Who is grabbing the attention so far?
Krystal Welsh (PSU commit) kicked off the season with a couple of wins. She won her session of the COTC (4th v, 2nd ub, 2nd bb, and 1st fx of 21 competitors in the session) and followed up with a win at the World Class Invite (2nd v, 1st ub, 2nd bb, 1st fx of 11 competitors).
Brianna Guy (Auburn commit) is also off to a great start. She won v, ub, and bb at the COTC meet, but a mishap on fx knocked her into 2nd place (of 21 competitors) overall. She won her session at the World Class Invite (1st on v, 1st ub, 2nd bb, 1st fx of 11 competitors).
Brittany Harris (Oregon St) won the ConocoPhillips meet (1st v, 3rd ub, 1st bb, 1st fx of 6 competitors). She placed 2nd AA at the William Center meet (2nd v, 1st ub, 3rd bb, and 2nd fx of 5 competitors).
Arkansas’ Bailee Zumwalde won her Peppermint Twist meet (2nd v, 5th ub, 2nd, bb, 1st fx of 12 competitors)
Marie Case (Kent State) made a statement with a huge early season AA score of 38.125 and a sweep of her session of the COTC meet.
Geoff Corrigan has been named the new assistant for Michigan Men's squad, repacing Scott Vetere.
