CMU 195.65 - NIU 194.95

CMU got the win at NIU, but NIU's Ashley Potts won the all around, scoring 39.350.  The teams shared the individual win on beam.  CMU picked up the individual wins on vault and floor.  NIU notched the highest score on bars.

It was shaping up to be a tight meet until the last rotation.  Three low scores on beam took Cal out of the game as ASU cruised to a 196.8 - 194.85 victory.  The close battle for the AA title ended in a tie between Toni-Ann Williams (Cal) and Cairo Leonard-Baker (ASU), each scroing 39.575.  Cal picked up three event wins on vault, beam and floor.  ASU prevailed on bars.

Ball State's Kaitlyn Menzione won the AA with a 39.150.  Ball State picked up the high scores on three events, vault and floor.  Kent State placed 1st on beam.  The teams tied for high bars score.

GWU presses past UNH 196.175 - 195.925

Jillian Winestanley, GWU, picked up the AA title with a score of 39.45.  GWU also placed the top scores on vault and beam.  UNH placed 1st on bars and floor.

WMU's Morgan Spence captured the AA with a score of 39.075.  WMU also grabbed the beam and floor titles while Bowling Green topped the vault and bars events.

2020-21 Bell Johnson to OU

Bell Johnson of Bart Conner Gymnastics has committed to OU.  She won her 2017 state meet and qualified through regionals to JOs where she finished 32nd AA.  She recently competed at the 2018 New Year's Invitational and placed 1st AA and 1st on beam.

Cal 395.05 at Stanford 414.1

Stanford posted a season high to defeat Cal and Washington's club squad.  Several private clubs also competed.  Stanford was led by wins from Grant Breckenridge on HB and Bailey Perez on VT.  Cal's Aaron Mah won the college men's AA with an 80.35.

Utah State 195.0 at DU 196.675

DU used only five athletes on three events, but it was enough to easily turn aside the visiting Aggies.  DU's Maddie Karr posted a 39.6 to win the AA.  Karr also won UB and tied for the titles on BB and FX. Teammate Lynnzee Brown won VT and tied with Karr for BB title. Pioneer Nikole Addison earned a share of the FX title with Karr.

Men's: Illinois 412.5 at PSU 405.9

Illinois made it a sweep in the double dual at PSU.  They were led by Alex Diab, who won FX and R.

UCLA's Peng Peng Lee posted a 10 to win BB as the Bruins defeated LSU, UW and NC State at the Metroplex Invitational.  UCLA's Kyla Ross won the AA (39.7), VT and tied for the UB title with LSU's Sarah Finnegan.  Tiger Myia Hambrick won the FX with a 9.975.

Stanford 195.55 at Oregon State 196.975

Oregon State blasted to a 196.975 to defeat the visiting Cardinal.  Oregon State was led by wins on FX by frosh Kaitlyn Yanish and from Maele Lazaro on BB. Teammates Destinee Davis, Dani Dessaints, and Stanford's Rachel Flam and Elizabeth Price tied for the VT title. Price won UB with a 9.975 and the AA (39.6)

Illinois 195.75 at PSU 195.475

PSU swept the individual honors but it wasn't enough for the hosts to hold off th Illini.  PSU's Briannah Tsang won BB, FX and the AA (39.35) to lead the Nittany Lions. Teammate Gianna LaGuardia won VT while teammates Lauren Bridgens and Sabrina Garcia tied for UB honors.

Olivia Aepli of Ohio State won VT and teammate Jamie Stone tied with Minn's Lexy Ramler for the FX title to lead the Buckeyes.  Ramler won BB and the AA (39.6). Teamamate Ivy Lu won the UB

MSU's Lea Mitchell won the AA and tied for VT while teammate Hailey Westney won the UB as the Spartans took the quad meet.  EMU's Lacy Rubin tied with Pitt's Catie Conrad on BB.  Also tying on vault were MSU's Roya Shirley, Pitt's Deven Herbine, and Rutgers' Sophia Atienza and Michelle Amoresano.
