For a second week in the row, the rankings are based on the new National Qualifying System formula whereby the five lowest home scores are selected and combined with the away scores, the high and low discarded, the remaining averaged.  Due to this, we are seeking less movement at the top of the rankings.  OU remains #1, LSU #2, Bama #3, Florida #4 and UCLA #5.  Here are this week's rankings, as compiled by RoadtoNatioonals.

There is still some movement in the rankings, especially around teams ranked from #14 to #18, which are separated by 0.134.  It has been clear in some head to head matches that lower ranked teams saddled by lower early season scores are defeating (or finishing close to) opponents of a much higher rank.  By event, OU remains the leader on VT and on BB and LSU leads on FX.  Florida takes over the leads on UB.  Teamwise, FX remains by far the highest scoring event, with 34 teams averaging over 49 while 22 to 23 teams are over the same average on VT, UB and BB.

The individual rankings and qualifications to the post-season will use the old formula, whereby the three highest away scores are taken, then the next three highest scores, the high score tossed, and the remaining five averaged.  This formula is much more sensitive to weekly variation as the number of meets in the average is fixed.  Individually, UCLA's Jordan Chiles remains the top AAer and the leader on FX.  LSU's Kailin Chio is the now the top vaulter and beamer.  Bama's Chloe LaCoursiere remains the leader on UB.
