Also receiving first place votes were #7 Oregon State (1), #8 Stanford (1) and #10 Michigan (2). Typically, the Coaches' vote the teams very close to their returning places, with Nebraska, Georgia and Arkansas in 6th, 9th and 12th, respectively. However, some traditional high placers with strong recruiting classes have been lifted above their 2011 finish: Stanford and LSU (#12) are now in the Top 12.
However, there is also some recognition of the losses certain teams suffered, as several teams dropped in the poll. Michigan, for example, returns less than half of their routines, including the loss of 2011 NCAA AA Champ Kylie Botterman. We'll be releasing our Capsule Previews of the Top 25 teams very soon, and we'll have a brief look at each of the teams in the Poll.
