Lexi Lajeunesse is a L10 gymnast at Stars Gymnastics in Houston. She has committed to Central Michigan University for the 2012-13 season. In 2010 she was 6th at Regionals with 2nd place on floor and finished 6th AA to qualify to JO Nationals.
In 2011 she finished 8th AA with a 37.475 at Regionals and qualified to JO NIT where she placed 7th AA.
Kim Wilson, a L-9 gymnast from Geddert's Twistars in Michigan, has accepted a walk-on offer to CMU. Wilson's season highlights included a 1st AA (1st B/BB)at the Twistars Invitational and 1st on Bars (2nd BB/AA) at UGA. She finished her season strong with a 1st on Bars (2nd AA) at L-9 State Meet, 1st AA at Regionals (2nd Bars)and 1st place on Bars at Nationals.
Sarah Neumann has accepted a scholarship to Air Force for the 2012-13 season according to her club's website. Neumann is a level 10 who trains at Twin City Twisters in Minnesota. This season Neumann won her session at the Sand Dollar meet, finished 10th AA at the Peppermint Twist meet, 6th AA at the Gopher Invite and 7th AA at the Chicago style. She finished up the season with a 14th place AA finish at the NIT.
Nicolle Eastman, L10 at Gedderts Twistars in Michigan, has committed to Kent State. Eastman had a busy 2011 season schedule, finishing in the top six AA at nearly every meet. Season highlights include 3rd place finishes at the Luau in Leos and the Arena Classic (1st V/BB); a 2nd place finish at the Chicago Style and an all around win at regionals. She finished 19th AA at JO Nationals.
Samantha Santos, L10 at Bloomington United Gymnastics in Indiana, will join Ball State this fall. She placed 7th AA at this season's Chicago Style and 26th AA at her regional meet.
Erin Patchey, L10 at World Class Gymnastics in N.Y., has committed to Ball State according to a news account. This season Patchey placed 3rd AA (1st V) at the PKI, 4th AA at the Chicago Style and 2nd AA at the Niagra Cup. She qualified to JO Nationals after placing 13th AA at her state meet and 4th AA at regionals.
McKenzie Davis, L10 at GAGE in Missouri, has signed with the University of Pennsylvania according to a news article. This season, Davis finished 2nd AA at the Dragon Invite and 5th AA at the All Olympia meet. Last season she finished 9th AA at the NIT.
VideoJaymi Baxter, L10 at Suncoast Gymnastics in Florida, has committed to Kent State for the 2012-13 season. This season, Baxter turned in 1st place all around finishes at the Suncoast Sports Fest (1st V/UB), Pikes Peak (1st V), Gasparilla (1st UB), and March Madness (1st V/UB/FX). She placed 3rd AA (1st V) at her state meet, 9th AA at regionals and 5th AA in the NIT.
International Elite Amanda Jetter has verbally committed to Alabama according to her club's Facebook page. In March, Jetter competed for the US team at the City of Jesolo Trophy meet in Italy, where she finished 8th in the all around, 4th on bars and 7th on beam. Earlier this season she competed two events, bars and beam, at the Buckeye Classic and won both. At the CGA Coaches Spectacular in January, she competed three events and placed first on a beam. Jetter trains at Cincinnati Gymnastics.
Here is a snapshot of the overall season for the recruits and commits who are headed to the teams that finished in the top ten this season. Of course, some elite level and foreign athletes will continue to compete through the summer.
