Boosters of Cal Men's Gymnastics have formed "Cal Gymnastics Forever Foundation" and will be meeting with the Chancellor on the 14th to present a business plan. They need your letters of support, and your donations. Thus far, they have raised pledges for over 25% of the operating budget and 200 letters of support. The Men's qualifier to the VISA (US) Championships were held this weekend, and 23 seniors and 9 junior advanced. A number of past, current and future collegians were in action. Jesse Silverstein won the senior division, while Daniel Potemski was the top junior.

Whitnee Johnson, L10 from Show Me Gymnastics in Missouri, has verballed to Kent State. She qualified to JOs from a 8th place finish at her state meet and a 6th place finish (1st V) at regionals. She finished 48th AA at JOs.
Centenary has announced that Robyn Price will be joining the team this fall. Price is an L10 gymnast from Delta Gymnastics in Arkansas.

Florida's Marissa King took 2nd on the VT at last weekend's British Championships. She placed 8th on the FX as well. She competed three events during the AA portion.

Stanford signee Shona Morgan placed third AA at the Australian Championships last night. Georgia Bonora took the AA win. Event finals are on Sunday.

The Australian Championships are in progress, and two NCAA affiliated athletes are in action. Oregon State's Olivia Vivan won the AA and BB in the L10 division. Stanford signee Shona Morgan competed UB in the team portion of the elite division.

The coaches have overturned their previous vote to do away with the Super Six format. The recent turnabout was approved by the NCAA Sports Management Cabinet in June.

Rheagan Courville, Elite from Gymnasiana in Louisiana, has committed to LSU, according to her interview with Gymnastike following the Elite Qualifier at the National Training Camp. She finished that qualifier 2nd AA with a score of 54.55 and she won vault, beam and floor. She also competed at the Qualifier in Florida in June, earning a score of 54.00 and a first place finish on beam.
The third elite qualifier was held at the famed Karoyli camp on Saturday. Several recruits like UK commit Kenzie Hedges, Bama commit Brooke Parker, Minnesota transfer Justine Cherwink and Michigan commit Morgan Steigerwalt competed. In addition, Arkansas grad Casey Jo Magee competed on three events.

Emily Turik, a L10 who trains at Trinity, has committed to Bridgeport. The late signee originally intended to go to Wisconsin-Whitewater before getting the scholarship offer. She missed the 2009 season with an injury before returning to place 15th AA at the 2010 Region V L10 Regionals, Sr. D. She also placed 2nd AA and 1st on UB at the 2010 NIT.

Alina Cartwright, L10 from Legacy Elite Gymnastics in Illinois, has committed to MSU for the 2011-12 season, according to a post on the Legacy Gymnastics Facebook page. She had an outstanding 2010 season as a first year L10, finishing 1st AA at the World Class Gateway Challenge (1st V/FX) and the Arena Classic (1st BB). She placed 7th AA (1st V) at her state meet, 8th AA (1st V) at regionals and 8th at JO Nationals.
