UW Oshkosh 183.975 at UW Eau Claire 185.1

Wisconsin-Eau Claire won their final home meet of the season with a win over Wisconsin Oshkosh.  Four different UW-Eau Claire athletes scored event wins:  Hannah Wendel on VT, Lauren Zurowski on UB, Tori Erickson on BB and Liz Stubbs on FX.

Michigan 197.275 at OU 198.075

#1 OU defeated the visitors from #4 Michigan to score a decisive win.  The Sooners posted a 198.075, a new season high.  Chayse Capps led the way for OU once again, winning the AA with a 39.675 and tying for the BB title with Michigan's Lauren Marinez.  She also tied for the UB title with teammate Nicole Lehrmann.  Sooner Haley Scaman was near perfect on FX, posting a 9.975 for the win.  OU's AJ Jackson won the VT.

LSU 197.9 at Florida 197.875

LSU handed Florida a key defeat at home, winning by just 0.025.  It was the Gator's first home loss since January 18th, 2008.  Ashleigh Gnat led LSU, winning the VT and FX and tying for top honors on BB with UF's Alicia Boren and Alex McMurtry.  Gator Bridgette Caquatto won the UB while teammate Kennedy Baker won the AA with a 39.625.

UGA 195.7 at Bama 197.55

Host Bama scored a big win over rival UGA, paced by a series of perfect and near-perfect wins.  Senior Lauren Beers celebrated Senior Night with a 10 on VT and a 9.975 tie on FX.  She tied on FX with teammate Kiana Winston.  Winston posted the same mark on UB to win the event.  Teammate Nickie Guerrero won the BB with a 9.95.   For UGA, Brandie Jay won the AA with a 39.35.

Iowa State 195.625 at Illinois 196.525

Illinois posted a season-high on Senior Night to defeat the visitors from Iowa State.  Giana O'Connor led the Illini with a 39.525 AA tally.  She also tied for the BB title with classmate Sunny Kato and tied for the FX title with teammate Erin Buchanan.

Missouri 196.625 at Auburn 197.2

Host Auburn held off the Tigers of Missouri to score the win.  Caitlin Atkinson led the way for AU, winning the UB, FX and the AA (39.625).  For Missouri, Britney Ward won the BB while Kennedi Harris and Morgan Porter tied for the VT title.

SEMO 190.425 at Air Force 192.65

SEMO's Lauren Israel won the UB and BB while teammate Alexis Brawner won VT and FX but it wasn't enough, as Air Force used their superior depth to defeat the Redhawks.  For AF, Kara Witgen won the AA with a 38.975.

Maryland 195.125 at UNH 195.325

Host UNH came from behind on Senior Night to score the win over Maryland.  Kelsey Aucoin won the BB for the Wildcats, while teammates Danielle Mulligan and Makenzie Kerouac won the UB.  Maryland's Kathy Tang won the VT and FX.

Rutgers 193.55 at UNC 191.225

Rutgers defeated host UNC, led by Riannah Ali's win on VT.  Rutgers went 1 through 4 on the event.  UNC's Morgan Lane won the UB, BB, and FX en route to a 39.2 AA win.  However, the Scarlet Knight's superior depth made the big difference.

WVU won the five team meet hosted by a record-breaking West Chester squad.  The Mountaineers were led by Kirah Koshinksi, who won the VT title.  Teammate Melissa Iderll tied with PSU's Nicole Medvitz for the BB title.  For PSU, Kiera Brown won the VT and the AA (39.475).  Teammate Briannah Tsang won the FX title.

I meet with club gymnasts and parents every week. After getting to know their backgrounds, skill level and goals, I ask them a question. “Can you define a scholarship?” What I have found is that most parents and gymnast have a basic idea of what a scholarship contains, but they do not know the details.

OU is the top squad in the Men's CGA National Rankings for the week of February 23rd, dropping one first place vote to #2 Stanford this week.  Ohio State is third.

2019-20 Jackard to MSU

Jori Jackard, L10 at Gedderts Twistars, has committed to Michigan State.  This season she has picked up bars titles at the Take You to Rio meet and the HNI.  She has finished in the top 4 AA at all of her meets so far this season.

2017-18 York to Sacramento

Mariah York, L10 from Gold Medal Gymnastics in Arizona, has committed to Sacramento State.  This season she placed 1st on bars and 2nd AA at the Arizona Grand.  She also placed 1st on bars and 2nd AA at the Winterfest Invitational.  Last weekend she competed to a 4th place AA finish at the Classic Rock Invitational.

Arizona 196.375 at ASU 193.975

Arizona used a balanced and consistent effort to easily defeat cross-state rival ASU.  Krysten Howard won the UB and Maddy Cindric won the BB to lead the Gymcats.  For ASU, Taylor Allex won the VT and FX.  Teammate Allie Salas led a quartet of ASU AAers with a 39.1.

Lindenwood 191.95 at UIC 192.225

Host UIC defeated Lindenwood, surging back on the FX to overtake the Lions.  Mikailla Northern led UIC, tying for the BB title with teammate Sabrina Tomassini and taking the AA with a 38.825.  Teammate Nicole Szabo won the UB.  For Lindenwood, Kayla McMullan won the VT and FX.
