Oklahoma 197.375 at Michigan 197.25

OU held off a rising Michigan program to escape Ann Arbor with a narrow win.  The Sooners built a 0.4 lead through three events and held on to the win on BB.  

Haley Scaman led the Sooners, winning FX and tying for the VT title wiith teammate Chayse Capps and Michigan's Sachi Sugiyama.  Teammate McKenzie Wofford picked up another title on UB.  Wolverine Nicole Artz won the BB with a 9.95 and posted a 39.6 AA.

Bama 197.675 at Georgia 196.825

Alabama defeated their arch-rival, host UGA, by pulling away during the final round.  UGA had three strong rounds to stay within 0.175 heading into FX but suffered a counting fall to drop well back.  Meanwhile, Bama hit for 49.35 to close out the win on BB.

Kaitlyn Clark led Bama, winning the AA with a 39.625.  She also tied for the BB title with UGA's Mary Beth Box and the FX title with teammate Lauren Beers.  Beers took the UB title.  Georgia's Ashlyn Broussard won the vault with a near-perfect 9.975.

UNC won the quad meet hosted by NC State, just missing the 195 mark in a closely contest meet where all four teams finished within one point of each other.   Morgan Lane paced the Tar Heels, winning BB and the AA (39.275).  Kent State frosh Rachel Stypinski won the FX while teammate Michaela Romito tied for the UB title with Rutgers' Jenna Williams and NC State's Brittni Watkins.  NC State's Chelsea Knight claimed the vault.

Men's Winter Cup Preliminary Results

In a close preliminary session at the 2015 Men's Winter Cup, former Illinois star Paul Ruggeri (87.7) edged former OU standout Steven Legendre (87.6) and former Cal star Donothan Bailey (87.5) for first.  Cal's Kevin Wolting was the top active NCAAer in 8th, with OU's Allan Bower and Hunter Justus in 9th and 10th.  Stanford's Akash Modi was 11th but first in the first preliminary session.  Competition continues on Saturday.

2016-17 Arnold to EMU

Amanda Arnold, L10 at Gedderts in Michigan, has committed to Eastern Michigan.  Last season she qualified to JOs in her first season at Level 10.  This season she has had top 10 finishes in the all around and in all events that she has competed so far.

2017-18 Dennis to UCLA

Nia Dennis, elite gymnast competing for Buckeye Gymnastics, has committed to UCLA.  Last season she placed 2nd AA and 1st on bars at the US Secret Classic.   She also placed 1st on vault and floor at the P&G Championships.

UNH posted a 196.075 to fend off a series of record highs from the other programs.   Bridgeport and Brown set new season highs while SCSU set a new school scoring record.  UNH was led by Megan Pflieger, who tied for the BB title with teammate Casey Lauter, en route to a 39.275 AA win.  Teammate Erika Rudiger won the UB with a 9.925.  Sasha Tsikhanovich won VT and FX to lead Bridgeport.

ASU 195.375 at Arizona 196.625

Arizona set a new season high to defeat the visiting cross-state rivals from Tempe.  Allison Flores tied for the event title on FX (with teammate Jessie Sisler) en route to a 39.35 AA win.  Teammate Shelby Edwards won VT, while frosh Victoria Ortiz won UB.  ASU's Brianna Gades won the BB.

2018-19 Johnston to Nebraska

Abigail Johnston, L10 at American Twisters in Florida, has committed to Nebraska.  She ended last season with a 4th place finish at the NIT.  This season she competed at the Manhattan Classic, finishing 1st AA and 1st on beam and floor.  She also placed 1st on floor at the Sun & Surf spectacular.

OU takes the top spot in this this week's National Rankings for Women, as published by Troester.com GymInfo.  Florida overtakes LSU for 2nd after a 198+ score this weekend.  Next weekend, we'll see a shift to the Regional Qualifying Score (RQS).

Utah State 194.475 at Boise State 195.925

Host Boise State defeated Utah State, led by Kelsey Morris and Ciera Perkins.  Morris won the FX and the AA (39.325) while Perkins took the vault and the UB.  USU's Hayley Sanzotti and Michelle Yasukochi tied for the BB title.

Williiam & Mary posted its best score of the season in a win over Springfield.  They had three individual winners:  Neal Courter on FX, JJ Jindra on Rings, and Michael Deltz on HB.

SUNY Brockport won the meet, led Lily Jagodzinski's wins on FX and BB(tie).  Ithaca's Hannah Donnelly shared the BB title.  Brockport State also scored wins from Olivia Sylvestro on VT and Stephanie Schuler on UB.

CMU 196.4 at Kent State 195.325

CMU rebounded with a season-best score, after some lower scores recently.  They broke 196, paced by Kylie Fagan and Halle Moraw.  Fagan won the UB and tied for the BB title with Moraw and Kent State's Rachel Stypinski.  Moraw also tied for the VT title with Kent State's Brooke Timko.  Stypinski won the FX with a meet-high 9.95.

Pittsburgh 194.275 at MSU 195.15

MSU returned home for the 2nd meet of the weekend and held off Pitt for the win.  MSU's Lisa Burt led the way, winning BB and the AA (39.125).  Teammates Mackenzie Smith, Nicola Deans and Elena Lagoski won VT, UB, and FX, respectively.
