Cornell welcomes six newcomers for 2018-2019: Valerie Aubley, Michelle Espinosa, Haley Kondo, Miranda Lund, Sara Maughan and Donna Webster. The commits of all but Espinosa and Webster were covered in prior news items.
Isabel Song from Will-Moor has committed to Penn. She finished 1st on floor and 3rd AA at her 2018 state meet. She placed 2nd AA at regionals and 26th AA at JOs.
Kathryn Thaler from Stars has committed to Nebraska. She had a strong finish to her 2018 season, placing 1st AA, 1st on bars and floor at her state meet. She placed 1st on bars and 2nd AA at regionals. She placed 15th AA at JOs. We originally had her committing to Rutgers.
Hollyn Patrick from Airborne has committed to Missouri. Last season she placed 4th AA at her state meet and 8th AA at regionals. She finished 32nd AA at JOs.
The American Classic was held this weekend at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. This meet serves as a qualifier for the US Championships, although several athletes who have already qualified used the meet as a prep meet for the Championships.
BJ Das, a former gymnast herself, has distinguished herself as a professional choreographer.. She joins the Utah staff as volunteer choreographer.
Temple (W) has named Josh Nilson as their new Head Coach. He had spent last season as an assistant at Air Force. Prior to Air Force, he was briefly named Head Coach at EMU as well as a co-interim Head Coach at PSU (where he was also an assistant). Prior to that he was an assistant at USU and at TWU.

Rutgers has announced the hiring of Anastasia Halbig and Michael Rosso as assistants. Halbig is a former RU athlete and Temple graduate assistant. Rosso is a Rutgers grad as well and was a former Temple assistant under near Rutgers Head Coach Umme Salim-Beasley. Rosso's brother Ralph is an assistant at Washington.

San Jose State's Wayne Wright has retired, the school announced yesterday. He has been with the program for 25 years, and became Head Coach in 2002.

Ella Hodges from Gymnastics and More has committed to Ohio State. She is a 2018 state beam champ. Her 2nd place finish at regionals qualified her to JOs and she finished 50thAA.
Jordan Hand from Sun Country Sports has committed to West Virginia. She qualified to regionals in 2017. She competed one event at her 2018 state meet and missed the rest of the championship season.
Jacey Vore from JPAC has committed to Arkansas. Her 2018 was highlighted by a 2nd place finish at the Nastia Liukin Cup. She placed 1st on bars, floor and the all around at her state meet. Her 4th place finish at regionals propelled her to JOs and a 23rd place finish.
Sophia Leblanc from the Massachusetts Gymnastics Center has committed to Maryland. Her 5th place regional finish qualified her to the 2018 JOs where she finished 48thAA
Bama has added Aja Sims as a volunteer assistant.
