UCLA adds three

Kyla Ross, Katelyn Ohashi and Madison Preston have signed with UCLA.   Ross, along with fall signees Kocian and Biles, will defer.  Ohashi and Preston will join the team this fall.  We had previously announced Preston as a 16-17 recruit.

2016-17 Kuprat to BGSU

Kelsi Kuprat, L10 at North Stars Gymnastics, has committed to Bowling Green.  She started this season with a win at the COTC and she has placed in the top 10 AA at her regular season meets.  She placed 13th AA at her state meet.

2016-17 - Madison McBrid, L10 at All American in Utah, has committed to SUU.  She has accomplished top 5 AA finishes throughout this season and she placed 1st AA; 1st V/BB/FX at her state meet.

2017-18 - Shadae Boone, L10 at Twin City Twisters, has committed to Southern Utah.  She has achieved top 10 finishes at her meets this season, including a 4th place finish at her state meet.   She won vault and floor last weekend at her regional meet.

2017-18 Fletcher to Kent State

Abigail Fletcher, L10 at ENA Paramus, has committed to KSU.  She picked up a vault title at the Twilight Knight meet earlier this season and she recently finished 12th AA at her state meet.

SPU's Maria Hundley won the UB and BB to lead the finalists at the 2015 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate Nationals.  AA winner Kierstin Sokolowski won the VT.  On Floor, TWU's Kayla Jones tied with Bridgeport's Sasha Tsikhanovich and Caitlin Perry for the title.

Lindenwood won the Women's USA Gymnastics Collegiate Natoinal team title with a 195.55, easily outdistancing Bridgeport 194.675.  SPU was 3rd at 194.225 and TWU 4th at 193.775.

2018-19 Al-Hameed to OU

Alexa Al-Hameed, L10 at Triad in Iowa, has committed to OU.   Last season, Alexa finished 1st on vault and 10th AA at JOs.  This season she has 1st place AA finishes at the Northern Lights (1st UB) and the Midwest Open (1st V/UB/BB/FX).   She won her state meet (1st AA and 1st V/UB/FX) and 1st at regionals (1st V/UB).

2017-18 Verdeflor to PSU

Ava Lorein Verdeflor has announced her commitment to PSU.   She competes at Level 10 for WOGA.   This season she placed in the top three at the Texas Prime meet, the WOGA Classic and the Gymnastics Legends meet.  She recently placed 2nd AA and 1st on bars at her state meet.

L10 Regionals

Most regionals will take place next weekend.  Only Region IV competed this weekend.  The top seven competitors at regionals qualify to JOs, so long as they achieve a minimum score of 34.00.   This list highlights the seniors who are expected to compete at JOs.   Many of them have committed to various NCAA teams.   A link to the full results is provided.

Men's: OU Wins NCAA Title

Oklahoma posted a 447.05 to win the NCAA Team Title, to cap off a dominant season.  The Sooners won their first title since 2008.

Four teams advanced to the Finals at the 2015 Women's USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals.  First session qualifiers Lindenwood and TWU will be joined by SPU and Bridgeport in what is shaping up to be a super close final.

2016-17 Desch to Alabama

International Elite Maddie Desch has announced her commitment to Bama.  Maddie trains at GAGE.  She recently represented the US at the City of Jesolo meet, finishing 9th AA.  In 2014 she placed 8th AA at the Jesolo meet and 5th AA at the Pam American Games.  She also competed at the World Championships.

Arizona's Ryden Steps Down

Arizona's Bill Ryden has stepped down as Head Coach at Arizona, after 25 years at the school.  He has been the Head Coach for the last 17 years and an assistant for 8 years prior to that.  A national search for his replacement will be initiated.
