It seems like it's harder to find meet results posted this year than in the past, but we’re see enough results to get a feel for how some of the L10s are doing as they work though their last season before heading to college. Here are just a few of the noteworthy results from the past two weeks:
Marie Case’s name continues to pop up at the top of the results sheets. The Kent State signee won her session of the CGA Coaches Spectacular while picking up a 1st on vault and 2nd on bars and fx. Acacia Cosentino (UNC) finished 2nd behind Case, but picked up 1st place finishes on bars and floor.
Case moved on to her next meet, the Cereal City Classic, where she placed 2nd (1st on fx) behind Diandra Milliner (rumored to be a Bama commit). Milliner placed 1st on vault, bars, and beam. Milliner and Case both qualified from this meet to compete in the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup next March.
Kytra Hunter (UF) won the 18+ division in Session 3 of the Parkette Invitational and put up strong scores to win vault, bars and beam. Katy Dodds (Maryland) won floor in that division. Alexis Carroll (PSU commit) and Lia del Priore (Utah) finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the 16-17 age division of the PKI. Carroll’s first place finish qualified her to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup. A few other early commits competing in 16-17 session of the PKI won individual events: Stephanie Giameo (Maryland) took 1st on beam; Annette Miele (Michigan) placed 1st on vault; Becky Tutka (Utah) scored a meet high 9.9 on floor to win that event.
