2011-2012 Eberly to Illinois

Kelsi Eberly, L10 from Prestige Gymnastics in Pa., has verbally committed to Illinois.  She is a two-time JO Nationals qualifier and recently finished 2nd AA in the Black Eyed Susan meet in November.

2011-2012 Brewer to OU

Erica Brewer (L10 Champion Gymnastics, KY) has verbally committed to the University of Oklahoma. Brewer, a 2011 graduate, placed 3rd AA and 1st BB at 2009 Nationals, qualifying for the National Team and the Region V All-Star Team. Brewer also received 2009 Kentucky Gymnast of the Year honors.

Women's National Rankings for the Week of Feb 1st

Alabama remains at #1 this week's Troester.com GymInfo Rankings, with OU at #2.  LSU's Susan Jackson leads the AA.  Brandi Personett of PSU leads the vault, while Anna Li of UCLA leads on UB.  OU's Holly Vise is the top BB worker, while Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs of UCLA leads the FX.

Men's: William and Mary 321.4 at PSU 341.45

PSU won Sunday, led by frosh Parker Raque.  Raque captured titles on FX and Rings (tied with teammate Felix Aronovich), the first wins of his career.  PSU swept the individual events, employing no AAers.

Men's: Army 330.95, Navy 326.1 at Springfield 333

Springfield posted the win over Navy and Army, hitting 333 on the nose.  Springfield to event wins from Ty Evans in the VT, Jimmy Pezzino on FX, Matt Tocchio on PH, and a tie on PB by Kyle Bartgis.

Two Hills L10s commit to WVU

Janna Salim has committed to walk on to WVU next season.  Dayah Haley has verbally committed to join the team in for the 2011-2012 season.  Haley recently competed at the Maryland Classic  (16th AA;  2nd V and 5th FX).  She competed at the 2009 JO nationals, finishing 3rd in the Jr. D session (3rd V/BB; 4th FX).  There are no recent results for Salim.

Men's: UIC 338.2, Brockport 280.85 at Temple 343.75

Temple posted the tri-meet victory, scoring 343.75.  Temple's Patrick McLaughlin led the way, winning FX, PH and HB and posting a 87 to win the AA.

ASU 193.475 at UCLA 196.55

UCLA posted a 196.55, led by Anna Li, who won the UB, FX and the AA (39.45).  Brittani McCullough won VT while Elyse Hopfner Hibbs won BB to complete the sweep for UCLA.

Ball State 191.5 at NIU 192.125

NIU was boosted by the AA return of star Holly Reichard.  Reichard posted a 39.0 in the AA, won the BB and tied for 1st on the UB with Ball State's Bibiana Rodriguez.  Ball State's Morgan Coslow picked up a win on VT while teammate Brittney Emmons won the FX with a 9.85.

Illinois State's Erica Shick won the UB, FX and AA with a 38.175.  Teammates Tori Sarantaki and Hannah Deutsch won the VT and BB, respectively.

Bowling Green 192.6 at WMU 191.85

SUU 194.925 at San Jose State 193.3

Elise Wheeler of SUU posted a 39.275 to win the AA, including a tie on FX with San Jose State's Tiffany Louie.  Teammate Melissa Johnson won the VT, while teammates Alissa Click and Ari Lamb tied for the BB title.  SJSU's Thomasina Wallace won the UB with a 9.9.

For Minnesota, Aaron Fortunato won the FX and placed 2nd AA.  Gopher frosh Harris Coleman won the PH, while teammate Andre Berry posted a 16.2 to win the vault.  John Robinson of NU won the AA with an 86.2.
