BYU signs four

Shannon Hortman, Hannah Miller, Angel Zhong and Helody Cyrenne signed letters of intent with BYU this week.  The Miller, Zhong and Hortman commits were covered in previous posts.  Canadian national team member Helody Cyrenne won a gold medal on floor at the 2015 Elite Canada.  She has competed internationally at the Pan Ams and City of Jesolo.

Towson Signs Temkov and Wesoly

As expected, Towson has signed Melissa Temkov and Ally Wesoly to NLIs for 2016-2017.

Lindenwood Signs Seven

Lindenwood expects to welcome seven gymnasts for 2016-2017:  Katie Bailey, Mackenzy Chavez, Taylor Colwell, Breanna Franklin, Georgina Harris, Ryan Henry and Emily Milliet.  The large class is expected to step in for the large inaugural class.  The commits of Chavez, Colwell, Henry and Milliet were covered in prior news items.

Bailey is a L10 from DeVeau's in Indiana.  In 2015, she qualified to the JO Nationals after winning the Region V L10 BB title and placing 3rd AA.  In 2014, she placed 16th AA at the Region V L10 Regionals.  Link:  Video

Franklin is a Canadian National Open who trains at Marian in Saskatchewan.  At the 2015 Canadian Championships, she placed 9th AA in the National Open 16+ Division.  She also finished 14th AA in 2014.    Link:  Video

Harris hails from Halifax, England and is a member of the England International Team.  At the 2014 British Championships, she was 34th AA.  Link:  Video

Ohio State (M) Sign Brower and Chan

Ohio State has signed Andrew Brower and Michael Chan to NLIs for 2016-2017.

Brower hails from Old Bridge, New Jersey and trains at the US Gymnastics Development Center II.  At the 2015 P&G (US) Championships, he place 15th AA, 5th on PH and 5th on PB.  He was 2nd AA and on Rings at the 2014 JO Nationals and was the JO National champ in 2013.

Chan is from Louisville, Kentucky and trains at Queen City Gymnastics.  At the 2015 JO Nationals, he placed 3rd AA, 1st on VT and 2nd on HBG.  He was also 13th in 2014 and 2nd in 2013.

WMU Signs Buis and Mohler

WMU has signed Taylor Buis and Amelia Mohler, as expected.  They start in 2016-2017.  If the names seem familiar, they are:  Taylor's older sister is WMU senior Jessi and Amelia's older sister Amanda is a senior at NIU.

Kent State Signs Three for 2016-2017

As expected, Kent State announced the signing of Jade Brown, Sarah McCarty and Darby Stanton for 2016-2017.

ASU Signs Five

ASU signed five athletes during the Early Signing Period:  Jessica Ginn, Morgan Hart, Grace Kramer, Ashley Szafranski and Heather Udowitch.  The commits of Ginn, Kramer, Szafranski and Udowitch were covered in prior news items.  Udowitch plans to graduate early and will join the team for 2016.

Hart is a L10 from Brown's in Las Vegas.  In her first year as a L10, she placed 46th AA at the Level 10 JO Nationals.   As a L9 in 2014, she placed 4th AA at the Level 9 Western Nationals.  Link:  Video

As expected, Auburn ahs signed Katie Becker, Gracie Day and Kendal Moss for 2016-2017.

Temple has signed Jaylene Everett and Daisy Todd to NLIs for 2016-2017, as expected.

Nebraska (M) Sign Three

Nebraska Men's coach Chuck Chmelka announced the signing of Evan Hymanson, Josh Martin and Jake Bonnay to NLIs for 2016-2017.

Hymanson trains at Monmouth in NJ.  In 2015, he qualified to the P&G (US) Championships, where he placed in the top 10 on FX and R. 

Martin trains at Aerial Gymnastics in IL.  At the 2015 JO Nationals, he placed 3rd on FX and PB.  He also placed 2nd on VT in 2014. 

Bonnay is a Canadian who trains at Gymnastics Mississauga.  A member of the Junior National team since 2014, he won the jr. national titles in 2015 on PH, HB and PB.

LSU Signs Three

LSU has signed Kennedi Edney, Ashlyn Kirby and Brit Ruby Harrold (who is deferring to start in 2016-2017).  All three commits were reported previously.

Kentucky has signed Erynne Allen, Alaina Kwan and Katrina Coca for 2016-2017, as expected.

UNH has signed Alexa Calandra, Riley Freehling and Ava Watkins for 2016-2017.

Stanford (M) Signs Three for 2016-2017

Stanford's men's squad has signed three gymnasts to Letters of Intent for 2016-2017:  Joey Ringer, Bailey Perez and Connor Lewis.

Lewis, a two-time US National Team member, is a two-time Region V AA Champion and a 2015 P&G (US) Championships qualifier.  In 2015, he placed 4th AA and 3rd on VT, 4th on VT and 6th on PB at the 2015 JO Nationals (Junior Elite 16 division).  He was 6th AA in 2014.    

Perez is a five-time JO National qualifier and a 2012-2013 US National Team member.  At the 2015 P&G (US) Championships, he was fifth on vault and sixth on FX.   Link:  Videos
