No. 7 PSU won their opener with a solid 343.3 win over Army. PSU dominated the meet, winning all six events as a team and 6 of 7 individual titles. Parker Raque led PSU, winning the AA and VT (15.8). Classmate Scott Rosenthal won the rings with a 15.4, higher than any Nittany Lion scored in 2010.

UGA quickly brushed aside concerns with injuries and the resulting depth to post a big opening meet win. Junior Gina Nuccio led UGA with wins on UB and FX, while classmate Shayla Worley won the BB. Frosh Lindsey Cheek won the VT while Cassidy McComb's AA victory completed the sweep.

TWU defeated Centenary, posting a 190.625 for the win. Brittany Johnson led TWU, winning the AA, UB and tying for 1st on VT with teammate Bethany Larimer. TWU's Roshanda Cannie won BB while teammate Amy Winczura tied with Centenary's Marissa Schneider for the FX title.

Kentucky posted four career-best scores on FX, including a meet-high 9.95 from Andrea Mitchell, to secure the win. Teammate Whitney Rose won the VT, while another Wildcat, Caitlyn Ciokajlo, tied with Illinois' Jackyn Kantecki on UB. Kelsey Joannides led Illinois, winning balance beam and tying with teammate Allison Buckley for the AA title.

Illinois State captured the win over conference rival SEMO, 191.5 to 190.275. The Redbirds were led by Ericka Shick, who won the AA. Teammate Tara Sarantakis won the VT with a Yurchenko Layout Full. SEMO's Christina Sundgren won the UB, while teammate Taylor Westrick won the BB. SEMO's Brianna Gaddie won the FX.

Another ranked team fell as Ohio State defeated Minnesota. Sophomore Colleen Dean won the FX and the AA (39.125) to lead Ohio State. Frosh teammate Sarah Miller won the BB while teammate Rebecca Best tied with Minnesota's Kristin Furukawa on UB. Gopher frosh Kayle Slechta won the VT.

CMU posted its best score in an opener since 2004 in defeating UAA, UW-LaCrosse and Sac State. Andrea de la Garza led CMU, winning the AA with a 38.725 and tying for 1st on BB with frosh teammate Emily Heinz. Fellow frosh Alyssa Wilson won the UB. CMU's Darian Tissenbaum won the VT. Sac State's Kailey Hansen won the FX with a 9.7.

Oregon State defeated LSU, led by junior Leslie Mak. Mak won the AA with a 39.375, and captured the BB title. She also tied for 1st on VT in her first collegiate attempt, with teammate Becky Colvin. Finally, she tied for the FX title with two teammates -- Makayla Stambaugh and Olivia Vivian. Vivian also won the UB title.

Utah held off UCLA to win the opener for both squads. UCLA posted a pair of falls on BB to halt their comeback attempt, after falling behind early. Stephanie McCallister led the Utes, winning the AA with a 39.175 and tying for the FX title with UCLA frosh Olivia Courtney. Ute teammate Kyndal Robarts won the VT. For UCLA, Aisha Gerber won the BB while Brittani McCullough and Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs won the UB.

SUU held off an upset minded USU squad 193.475 to 192.8. USU's Brooke Cerosimo and Ari Lamb tied for AA honors with a 38.875. Lamb won the BB while teammate Shannon Coughlin tied for the FX title with USU's Lyndsie Boone. Boone also won the vault. USU's Nicole Simoneau won the UB.

OU held off Arkansas to secure the win in the "Beauty and the Beast" meet held at the same time as a wrestling match with Army. (Viewers of the live feed saw a number of wrestling rounds, and may have been entertained as the color commentators tried to explain the basic rules of each sport to each other). Four different OU athletes split the event titles. Sara Stone won the VT for her Yurchenko Layout Full. Megan Ferguson spun a solid routine to win the UB while teammate Natasha Kelley won the BB. OU's Kayla Nowak tied with Arkansas' Jamie Pisani for the FX title. Arkansas frosh Katherine Grable led a trio of Arkansas AAers with a 39.225.

Iowa State posted an opening victory, led by by junior Michelle Browning's 39.175 AA win. Browning capped off her victory with a win on FX. Frosh teammate Michelle Shealy won the BB. For AU, Petrina Yokay won the VT while teammate Kylie Shields won the UB. .

Down in Cancun, WVU served notice of their strength by posting a 194.5 to upset Missouri. Frosh Hope Sloanhoffer and senior Amy Bieski led the Mountaineers, with the former winning VT with a 9.925 and tying for first on FX with Bieski and Mizzou's Lauren Swankoski. Bieski also picked up a win on BB and in the AA. Mizzou's Sandra Ostad won the UB with a 9.775.

A young Bama squad won their season opener, paced by senior Kylea Hoffman. Hoffman won the AA with a 39.5 and tied with frosh teammate Diandra Milliner for the VT title. Hoffman floated a nice Yurchenko Layout Full while Milliner drilled her Yurchenko 1 1/2. Another frosh, Sarah DeMeo, won BB with a 9.925. Sophomore Ashley Sledge won the UB with a 9.85.

Pittsburgh won its opening meet, led by Molly Moyer's AA win and Alicia Talucci's two wins. Talucci won BB and tied with Moyer and Ball State's Nicole Allen on VT. Pitt frosh Brittney Harris won the UB.

Florida just missed the 197 mark in their season opener, as both teams avoided a major mistake. Gator Ashanee Dickerson was dominant, winning VT, BB, FX and the AA (39.55). Right behind her was frosh Alaina Johnson, who won UB and posted a 39.425 in her debut.
